Prolly one of the best non-noticeable mods. One reason I will prolly never get exhaust is because the big chrome mufflers are too gaudy and hang too low.

That's another thing I like about the MD VQ. Even though the muffler's polished it's significantly smaller than the stock muffler, the HKS, and by the look of Marcus' exhaust the Tanabe single tip.

Yup MD muffler is way smaller than most other exhausts. Piping hangs too low though for me I'd destroy it. I remember the dual tips being different than the HKS style too (the way it was welded to the muffler), which I preferred over the MD.

I had it raised 3/4" after it was installed because it hung too low, but it sits nice now.

Heard. I, too, like the HKS tips a little better but gladly sacrifice that for the performance the MD brings to the table.

Cool Gabe. Have whoever mods it remove a 5/8 to 3/4" section from the muffler hangers.

Thanks I was surprised at how easy the fix was. The hangers on the exhaust were bent slightly upwards (that's how they were built) so all my muffler shop did was heat the supports with a torch until they were red hot and bend them down. Worked like a charm and cost me all of $30. Apologies for the Driod pics.

You gotta tuck that VQ under a Nismo lip!

If you're talking about the new Strafe lip, I'm waiting to see finished product before I commit. The current pics make it look awkward on the 05-06 bumper, too bulky and too much going on back there. We'll see what a finished, painted, and installed piece looks like. But if I do that, then of course I'll need Nismo sides and a repair/repaint of my whole front end. So my little $300 lip would end up costing me over $1000 in the end, FML.
