Don't you get nervous AutoXing on a course with trees, curbs, and light posts? I mean one spin into a curb would cost $2000+. I love autoxing, but only do it on open tarmac.

You're totally right about how everyone should try it! Cheap and fun speed.

I'm an ME student too

Slightly, Especially with it being my very first one. It worked out well for me though since I got there early and help set up the track. I also got to ride it once in a miata with the track designer. In addition to that the track designer rode with me for my first couple runs. Three events have been held in the same lot with the same track and no incidents yet. Although I did see an M3 alost eat the curb, he managed to stop about 4-5ft short of it after he got a little carried away coming out of a turn.

Yeah! I'm still doing standard courses. This semester I have calc 2, linear algebra (FML), and physics 1. Still a ways to go, but I have all my GE's done. I planning to transfer to UC Berkeley or Cal Poly SLO...where I hope my autox experience will help me get a spot (and some seat time) with the Formula SAE team. I hope you did well on your test.

Thanks man, It wasnt too shabby. Sounds like we are near the same spot. I am in Phys1, Nature and Props, and a general engineering time. I have hung around our Formula team a bit but havent really gotten into it. Seems like a really fun thing to do. A friend of mine drove one of their cars, he hasnt gotten exited by a street car since lol

Man lotta engineering students here. I'm in my third year, thankfully I've gotten all the awful intro/general engineering courses done. Never autoX'd before, but I've done similar stuff at the BMW test track near where I live (which happens to be about 30 min from Clemson)...lotta friends at Clemson as well

Umm I really dont know at this point. In all honesty I am thinking about finishiing here and going to tech to pick up my auto tech certification then trying my hand at getting my master tech while im young. Using all this as a fall back. A lot of people think its a lesser job but its what I love.
