lexusk8's Sedan Progression Thread

It started in August 2006 with the unfortunate loss of my last vehicle (2001 Lexus ES300). The car had 128K miles before it was put to rest.

Not too long after the accident, I received a generous check from my insurance company which allowed me to afford my 2003 Infiniti G35 RWD sedan (Brilliant Silver w/ charcoal interior, premium package "C"). Paid $16,000 cash to a private seller from Daytona Beach (41,290 miles on the date of purchase).

September 2006 - Bone stock photos

October 2006 - OEM clear corners

December 2006 - OEM Nissan 350Z intake tube
January 2007 - SuperBrightLEDs in trunk, license plate, door and clearance lights in headlamps
April 2007 - Window tint (30% on sides, 15% on rear)

August 2007 - Hawk HPS front brake pads
September 2007 - Stillen sway bars (front & rear) w/ bushings, 2005-06 OEM outer tailights, JDM right-hand battery cover
November 2007 - M3 replica lip spoiler, 'INFINITI' lettering emblem debadged, flat black painted grille

January 2008 - Eibach Pro-kit springs (1.1" drop all around), Stillen grounding wire kit, 19x8.5 HP Evos Racing wheels (wrapped in 245/35/19 General Exclaim UHP tires, +38 offset)

February 2008 - JDM Luminics deep yellow fog light bulbs
March 2008 - MOMO shifter

Before:

After:

April 2008 - Motordyne 5/16" plenum spacer
July 2008 - 2005-06 OEM sedan midpipe, Optima Red Top battery

August 2008 - NRG polished hood shocks
September 2008 - R1 Concepts cross-drilled and slotted front rotors, 2005-06 OEM reverse tailights

December 2008 - HKS Sport exhaust (rear axleback)

December 2008 - Replaced passenger side valve cover gasket (done on last month before powertrain warranty expired)

January - December 2009 (NO mods done; it was personally and financially a bad year for me)

A few action photos of the G:

September 2010 - Hawk HPS rear brake pads
October 2010 - Side marker blinker mod, OEM coupe 18's (wrapped in brand new Hankook Ventus v12 tires)
December 2010 - OEM Nismo side skirts

January 2011 - Strafe Nismo front bumper (fiberglass). It took me almost 3-4 hours to do the install since the bumper did not have pre-drilled holes! Haven't figured out what I'm gonna do with the air duct openings since the air ducts I received from Strafe are a bit undersized to fit in the openings unless I stretch and hold them in place with adhesive. Any input from you guys is much appreciated, thanks.

Soon to be installed: Authentic Nismo rear bumper underbody (if I can ever find one), Ionic Nismo replica, or paint the rear bottom to match.

Nice progression, always loved the g35c wheels, wish I still had a set. Shame you can't find a nismo rear lip, definitely sets the rear of the car apart from the others.

Doug,

Your car has come a very long way since I first saw it at THE RUN in 2007. Im loving the end result and think you should deff color match the rear and maybe even removing the sidemoldings. Clean looking sedan and those coupe 18s look fantastic!!

Nice progression Doug!

I didn't know you had picked up the Nismo sides

As for the rear, the stillin would look nice. Or you could wait for Ionic to finish the Nismo replica.

You thought about getting some spacers? A little stance would look nice.

Yes

Its going into the shop for install/paint might as well see what they can do price and time wise on the side moldings.

Guess I should have warned you that bumper wouldn't have pre-drilled holes.

My ducts are just held in with 3M mounting tape. I'm going to add a better adhesive later on.
