since you already deleted the reverse lights might as well upgrade to the circle tails

 

Actually, the 03/04 tails he has on there suit that shaved trunk better. Reason being the LED 'lines' being horizantal draws you away from the massive void ont he trunk.

The circular tails (that do look 10x better almost always) kind of 'imprint' your focus in the center. This leaves you looking at a big empty flat rear end. It's not appealing.

 

I'm gonna have to strongly disagree with you on this one dude.

Of course I know he would have to use body color to paint the tails around the rings and then rewire the turn signals if he wants to do it properly but even without that it would look better

 

i went with the black molds, side mirrors, rims, tinted corners,and red calipers
im going to make my headlight housing black

Neither of those cars looks ANYTHING like the G35. Neither looks ANYTHING like what he has, or even what the 05/06 tails look like.



I'm not saying the 05/06 will look bad, again, they are a much better looking tailight, but with the blank trunk and shaved reverse lights, I'm ont sure I'd be able to reason $200-400 for the 'upgrade'. WEither way respect your opinion, but man, what a horible picture comparison.

 

Looking better, IMO I would consider the next few things.
1. Fill in the grill lines so it doesnt have those ugly gaps
2. Paint the trunk and lips to color match
3. Rear splash guards
4. Paint headlights
5. Get '05+ tails
6. Wheels or spacers

yea i was also thinking of putting clear on the trunk, and getting the roof and maybe the hood black
ive been looking for the splash guards i have the front ones i need the rear ones
i will be doing the headlights tomorrow
umm the tail lights i wana get the 05-06 ones and paint them like gtr lights eather black or silver to match the car and put bondo around the taillight to make the whole thing one piece and paint the whole rear part of the car wile im at it
the spacers i want to buy 1" in the front and 2" in the rear but i dont know if it would be dangerous?

 

before you paint ur headlights, wanna trade for mine? + some cash, mine have small spiderweb sort of cracking on it nothing major, but since u will paint them they wont be noticeable. let me know if you would be interested.

 

is the cracking on the housing or the outer part?
ill trade u my headlights if you trade me your tail lights if u have the 05-06 x]

 

its on the outer, doesnt leak at all, its completely sealed and i take good care of them, i do have the 05-06 tails but i wouldnt trade them, i can give u some cash though, depending on condition of your headlights.

 

and i figured id find you this pic. its been done and it doesnt look bad. 4DGS has a sick car.

 

So to sum up, you went from saying the tails he has now suit his ride better because of the reverse lights being shaved and the trunk being too plain and some apparent magical voodoo that comes standard on 05/06 tails which would force you and everyone else you know to 'imprint your focus on the center' (because humans sometimes can't tell their brain what they want to pay attention to) to saying it would be an 'unreasonable upgrade' even if it would look better, after pointing out earlier in the thread that money isn't an issue for this guy.
Sorry man but you can't win them all.

Fact is the G35 has dual ring tails as an homage to the old skylines, and it was meant to RESEMBLE them. It does so in a more classy and expensive looking fashion, because it had an entirely different target market. Everyone knows that. So you can't say it doesn't look ANYTHING like it because it was meant to look at the VERY LEAST vaguely like it.

Fact is that having shaved tails DOES make his car look more like a scion. Take a look again if you please. Three distinct rows of six LED's running across the bottom with a turn signal above it. That's a no brainer. Don't really know how you could've missed that, as I'm sure I'm not the first person to notice.

I will concede that his car did NOT pull a transformers and turn into a tc, and it will NOT pull a transformers and turn into a skyline by upgrading, but the basic idea still stands.
