New Double Din!

Hey everyone,

Just a little update on the G!
Had my double din installed today, and quite pleased with it!

Items used:
-Pioneer AppRadio 2 Double Din
-Metra 95-7605A Trim kit
-HDMI Cord
-Digital adapter (HDMI to Lightning for iPhone 5+)

Have everything running through the arm rest
Only negative is the trim is slightly off with the original trim, but I think I can live with it

I love it! I've been considering doing this with my G. I just got it, but as all of us have found out, the mod bug hits early.

I've been wanting to ask someone this, and you're the perfect person..... ha. Did you retain your stock speakers for this set up? Unlike some of us, I actually do NOT hate the stock Bose system(aside from the random CD skipping). It images well, and gives a nice balanced sound throughout the frequency range.

Did you install this yourself? Or did you have shop do it. It does look great!

Aha there doesn't seem to be a cure for the mod bug..
Yes, all the stock speakers are being used, and to be honest.. I like the stock Bose too! I never had problems with CD skipping, but I was definitely tired of re-writing CD's. For this sole reason, an aftermarket deck was needed. And the speakers and sub are much louder (could be just me, but sounds better)

I had the deck installed at my local electronic store (future shop). But I happen to also work there.. So I definitely enjoyed the benefits Took them about 2.5 hours to do, and according to the installer, it was a bit of a pain. But there are a few DIY videos I saw online that were pretty thorough if you were planning to do it yourself.

Thanks a bunch!

It Is not a pain on our car, lol. But it is harder then on my old civic.

I have an Appradio also, it looks very nicely yours!

For me the CD's skipped and banks 1-3 didn't even register. It was time to upgrade. The stock speakers are okay, but the materials and the quality of the amplifier are not there.

The reason why your system is louder is because your preamp converter is set to Max, or close to it.

There is a cure, it's when you've run out of logical upgrades or when your plastic if full and you're only financially able to pay the interest. Enjoy the ride!
