I removed the factory muffler. I still have the resonator installed. I really like the sound and it was a free mod . I need to find a shop to make me a pipe.

Did you have to get GDM tails to pass inspection in Japan or you always had them before?

No. At least not in my case
Remember I still have the resonator installed. I don't know if you've seen what a Sedan resonator looks like, but it looks like a muffler to me..

I did not have them before. I also didn't buy them to pass inspection. Originally I tried to do that, but at Japanese Nissan dealerships they wanted over 2 what Infiniti charges for them. So, I bought a pair from Riverside Infiniti. I couldn't just stand by and wait for them, so I decided to add Yellow lights to the rear in order to pass inspection. It looked horrid, but it worked. Overall I wanted the JDM lights so that I could have a spare set of taillights so I could start my LED project on my OEM lights.

Here are a couple of pictures of my mod to pass inspection. After passing inspection, they were promptly removed

Quick clips (w/ iphone) I took this morning. Only had one chance to do this on my way to work and I kinda blew it, sorry. I'll do it again in a couple of days (can't drive the car tomorrow, insurance ran out today )

Still civil at slow speeds.
The radio is set to 5 and the windows are open just like in the last clip.

They sell them on base here. I saw one broke down a couple of weeks ago. The engine bay was smoking something fierce and it smelled like a power generator had blown up. I've never smelled that smell from a car before. For the longest you could only get crappy Chrysler cars on base. Now that they have crumbled they are offering a few fords, but strangely no Chevys

Once I get some new wheels I'll take more pictures around Japan. I'm not really proud of it with the current setup.
