its not anything like that

it would be more like someone with a V6 labeling their car as a V8...its just more subtle then that. Its more like a false duel exhaust or painting your hood black or a cubic zarconia or fake wood trim.

uh, people have been painting hoods black long before cf was cool. you can't just tie things together like that. silver isn't wannbe white gold wannbe platinum.

people got black hoods out of the junkyard maybe and couldnt afford to paint them

show me an example of someone with an intentional black hood(not a two tone paint job that includes the roof and trunk)from before the 1990s

oh course silver isnt wannabe white gold, silver is silver, something that is valuable on its own. cubic zarconias(sp?) on the other hand look like diamonds but are worthless, much like a carbon fiber overlay looks like carbon fiber (which is light and expensive) where as the overlay is just a picture of carbon fiber.

im not dissing your car, it looks good, most people don't even understand what cf is and they will think it looks cool

back hoods where super popular on muscle cars in the 70's, from the factory.

3M DI-NOC vinyl is not a picture, it's textured and it's not cheap.

real carbon's been around for a while and it got popular for the weight, strength and look. fiber glass is light too, but is plain. everyone knows carbon fiber is light, it's no mystery. a QZ might not be a real diamond but it can still be a stone on a ring. fake titz are still titz. do you think exotics a rice for using cf interior and engine bay dress up??? not having anything would be lighter. it's put there because of the LOOK, face it. why is it all the cheapest most stock car owners are the one's w/all the problems w/the way other people spend their money? if ur not feeling it fine, but you don't have to make random statements to prove irrelevant points. there is no perfect anything, everything has it's pro's & con's.

i spent like 13,000 on my rsx when i did the math lol..just not on stuff like that. my cars look stock because i want them to.

and 70s cars didnt just have black hoods they had 2 tone paint or a hood with a black stripe on it. and a lot of the stuff on exotic cars is sort of ricey...the pagoni zonda roadster that has a carbon fiber body to offset the added weight from it being a roadster is not rice

see thats proper use of carbon fiber

when lambo slaps cf on the dash board thats just the same thing that you did

and how much does that overlay cost? a couple hundred bucks? even if it was $2000 it would still be cheaper then fitting your car with a real CF roof

also why is it ok if the factory slaps fake things on a car? domestics cars always have phony vents and hood scoops and quad exhaust...its ok because its OEM rice?

let it go man, at least he got a good quality vinyl that looks good, most people that get carbon fiber hood and trunks aren't saving much anyway cuz our hoods are very lightweight aluminum is to get the look, he wanted another option other than painting his roof black cuz he doesn't have a black theme, he has a gray and red theme with gold accents and carbon fiber finish is kind of grayish. I wouldnt be surprised if an admin deletes all your posts on this thread.
