It's about $15 for the supplies which include:
1. 400 Grit Sandpaper
(about 2 sheets)
2.A small can of Primer
(you can use black but I used gray from DupliColor)
3.A medium can of Flat Black paint
(you can use semi-flat if you prefer but the clear coat makes it look less flat anyways. I used this)
4.A small can of Clear Coat
(I used Dupli Color. Not my pic but it looks like this)
5.A timer
(time between coats of paint is ATLEAST 10 minutes)
So go ahead and take a screwdriver to pop off those clips holding on the grill. Remove it and maybe clean that impossible to reach area under it and clean the grill itself too. Pop off the mt.fuji emblem from the back of the grill (its really easy) and get ready to sand.
Once you start theres no turning back, sand the grill and a residue will start to form on it which looks cloudy like dust. When enough of it gets on your little section of sandpaper flip it on the other side or get a new piece because it wont sand at all once enough residue gets on it. Sand thoroughly but when it starts to look like its chrome again thats a sign that you've sanded a little to much in one area (though this is not a problem).
Now is the fun part, find a nice area where dust wont find its way on to your grill when drying (and the freaking cat wont jump on it and make you have to start over

So now your ready to paint, when spraying make sure your about a foot away and if you make any mistakes like to much spray paint in one area just graze it with a paper towel or sandpaper. Make nice even sweeps back and forth and don't forget the sides of the grill. Do 3 Coats of primer, and 3 coats of paint, and 3 coats of clear coat/the rest of the can (if you have a mini version).
When you paint with your flat black paint make sure you don't get carried away like I did and try to make the entire grill black right away or you'll have to wipe alot of the excess paint off and start over on some areas. It will look more speckled and uneven in the first coat if you do it right and by the 3rd coat it will start to come together.
A large fan really speeds up the process and can reduce the drying time by 5 minutes but make sure like the paint that you spread the fan around nice and evenly. To test if its ready for another coat lightly feel the grill with your fingers and if its still wet or residue comes off on your finger then wait. Small imperfections in the first 2 coats can be taken off in the next 2. Also it wouldn't hurt to hit the backside of the grill with one or two coats of black paint during the whole process. When your done it may look like theres very fine black pebbles in between the teeth of the grill making it a little coarse even after the clear coat, not to worry though because these come off in about 2-3 weeks.
Remember be patient and worst case scenario you have to sand the whole thing down and start over. Good luck
