Nice to hear that you're in HK. Last time I visited there was in 1997 (during the important handover event from Britain to China). I'd love to go back there sometime and see family and friends (and of course eat all the good foods!)

There is a member here in Norcal that had her PAINTED rubber strip rip a little bit. I actually felt the rubber material and seen it with my own eyes. The paint was cracked/or chipped (I forget).
But anyways, I'll look at a few of my friends coupes this weekend and verify what it is, again.

This is why I'd like to find an aftermarket option to make the same seal in difference body colors... I'm going to research that down the road... I've got way too many things piled up for my car right now...
Her G is completely stock, no mods. Trust me, coupes come with a rubber strip painted from the factory. I just checked with some friends.
Not to be an *** but why is that so hard to believe? lol
Anyways, I agree that rubber is more prone to chipping/flaking if not painted properly but it is being done and can be done.

But if you say so - I guess it is

I do say so and what I say is law and final!
The one I've seen that was ripped looked to be exactly the same..I could see the rubber under the paint so it couldn't have been dye. There's some threads on here were some of them have started to chip/crack and have been replaced by the dealer. They said it was rubber too.
I guess it will remain a mystery never to be solved.

The grille is an Unlimited Tuning one I purchased from another member. Try giving them a call to see if they still stock them.
