More please..
I have a Silver 07 Journey, premium with wood. I'm looking to upgrade wheels also. I could not get 18 inch wheels on the car from factory without a 2 month wait, so I bought planning to upgrade.

If anyone has purchased aftermarket chrome wheels for a silver (or any other color) 07 I'd love to see it.

Hikos G - Love the lowered setup. What did that cost? It's got to suck to live in paradise. Aloha!

Yea, its tough but somebodys gotta do it,right?

I paid about $240 for the springs and install was done at my friends shop. Prices will vary on installations, of course, but you shouldn't be paying anymore than $85-$100.

Looking forward to your wheel choice EW. Have you thought about going with a plus sized fitment like 19's or 20's or do you prefer to keep it stock-ish like treyswife? Please post up pics when you do get them on your car!

Hikos_G ... question for you (originally a PM, but others might benefit from an answer as well):

How much clearance do you have between the front of your back tire and item 17 in the attached pic? Item 17 (radius rod) is what limits the inside wheel dimension.

If you have time, can you reach around and feel for the clearance for us, you shouldn't have to jack the car up.

Thanks

terry, sorry for the delay. Finally got around to checking on what you PM'd me about. Good idea sharing it with the rest of the forum.

To answer your question, the connecting rod is just one of 3 things that the inside of the wheel will come very close to rubbing if you go too wide inwards.

To the part you are inquiring about, there is about 3/4" space. 2 other parts that you also need to consider are the shock itself and a metal piece that is part of the frame/subframe(7) that the sensor(6) bolts onto. The space to all 3 of these parts that the wheel could potentially touch are all within the 3/4"-1.25" range with my 9.5(+43) setup so you may be able to push it that extra 3/4" inward with a properly offset 10inch wide wheel. It will be tight, though.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info. I am fairly certain that a 10" will fit cleanly (with a custom offest), I'm trying to decide between 275 and 285.

I took my car to Island Brake and Alignment today to finally get my alignment done. They are pretty professional down there they are right here in Aiea next to the Goodwill on Kam. Go see them for your alignment. I ended up needing a front camber kit to get me in spec they were able to align my rear with out the rear camber kit. Cost was 2 hours labor to install the front camber kit and align me. I am going to get a recon inspection next Tuesday

You are a man on a mission terry! You really wanna get those 10's in there, huh? Can't wait to see it.

Hopefully it'll fit nicely and not require major surgery like marcels 10's did to make them fit. Any word on his project yet, btw?

Thanks perry, but I already had mine aligned @ A1 alignment, my friends shop. Rears are back into spec but front will need camber kit, as you mentioned, if I want it to get back into OEM specs. Quite happy with the amount of camber and the handling characteristics of the car now so may look into the kit a little later.

Good luck on your recon. I don't even waste my time with those things anymore. Kinda pointless to me.

I'm thinking of 18's because I don't want too harsh of a ride, but may go to 19's since I have to buy new tires anyway. One of my close friend has an S500 with 20's and it reminds me of the ride recall from a mid eighties Corvette. How is the ride on your lowered G with 20's. I'm definitily going to lower it, after seeing your. I'll post some pic's once I make up my mind and get them installed.

You got a front camber kit for a 2007 G35 Sedan? Are you sure? I didn't think any were out yet. Confused on the rear too. Even at max camber the guys at the shop I went said they would not be able to get the rear in spec without a camber kit.

I'm -1.9 deg. front and -1.6 deg. rear.

Factory spec (from service manual) allows -1.8 deg front and 1.33 deg. rear.

Mines is an 07 but I wouldn't be suprised if the A- Arms work with the an 07 as well since our springs shocks are the same.
