I haven't had any problems yet, (only 1700 miles) but there's definitely a problem here. What type of road's are you driving on? Are you driving behind Dump trucks everyday? My G is the weekend car; therefore, I haven't experience the day to day wear and tear yet. I think if enough people make the dealerships aware maybe they will recall / replace etc.

Did you send blast that thing with gravel?

What the heck is wrong with you.

If you wanted to paint it you should have just used a sand paper.

Wow, looks like some clear bra is a must for the new grille.

Mine is about twice as bad as that. And it all happened in a couple months. I wish they would make a replacement that is identical but tougher. I don't want to paint it to match I think that sucks. I like the stock chrome grill. On the flip side this has been my only complaint with this car. Well that and the fact that it is taking a long time for someone to put out twins for these badboys.

I personally dont consider clear bra a SOLUTION to the problem... just a way for me (us) to pay more money to cover up an Infiniti cost cut.

WOW- That is surprising. My 03 has 3 chips total on the grill. They are all the size of a pin hole but whatever finish that was behind the top finish is the same color as the top finish.

I agree 100%. That is also why I refuse to put on a clear bra period. If the automakers would use enough clearcoat we wouldn't have to spend extra on a plastic cover that will look terrible in a few years. I'd rather just repaint the car if I have it that long and get it done right. This is not just an Infinity thing it is all automakers in my opinion.

I do not have my car yet but when I do pick it up, I will have to drive from BC to Alberta. Should I be worried about my grill? The dealership is throwing in the 3M covering on my hood, but will not do the grill because they said there is no need to. If I get to Calgary and there are pits and dings in the grill, will the warranty cover it?

You can't worry about it because it is going to happen. It is not covered by warranty because it is classified as a road hazzard. Funny how my truck has a flat and bigger chrome surface and it has seen winters here since 05 and its grill is just fine. Oh well, till they decide to take responsibility for a flimsy too thin chrome grill(never) it will just get worse till I find an identical aftermarket replacement or give the car back to them chips intact.

Damn my OEM is hurting as well from all the rock chips. I have an 04 and my grill is in pretty much the same condition, maybe even worse due to the road construction as well.
