pic request: paddles

Hi everyone...

I'm working with someone on a retrofit to add paddles to my G35X, and other models that don't have them. Just wondering if anyone has some clear pictures of the whole assembly... the wheel column covers, position of the steering wheel adjuster joystick, clearance, etc.

It looks like it should be relatively easy to buy the parts from a Sport and just plug them in, and seeing how he already added this to an FX -- which doesn't even come with that option -- it should be easy to make it fit even if it doesn't want to, so now it's just a matter of making sure how different things are between Sport and X.

T.I.A.

Hmmm... no takers? I know there's at least a few people here with paddles.

I don't have a sport, but I'm interested in seeing how it turns out. If it's not too labor intensive, I may want to add some paddles to my non-sport G as well.

Damn... 200 views and not one picture.

Anyway, I'll let you know. We've ordered the parts and as far as we can tell it's just the carrier and covers, plus the paddles themselves. Not sure if the car is pre-wired for them or not, but I guess we'll find out in a couple of days when the parts get here.

Viguera,
I have an X and wanted to do the same thing. When I tried to order parts they quoted me a ridiculously outrageous price. Any way you can share all the part numbers that you ordered and price range after your all done with the project?

Thanks man.

I'll get you the part numbers... there's a few different switch carriers but the paddles are the same... and they should only be $175 at the dealer.

Then it's just the steering wheel column covers, since the X doesn't come with them so the column doesn't have the holes.

Waiting for the parts to come in, and once we figure out what's what then I'll confirm for sure.

Yeah I think today you could do it to a coupe with minimal effort, since they come as an option too, and I doubt they designed completely different steering columns for both cars.

And the problem with some of those aftermarket ones is that they don't work with the stock wheel, so you have to lose all the controls and most importantly the airbag...

But I'll know for sure in a few days.
