HFC + X + Magnaflow pics

Just got it done today by the guys at American Muffler i(if any LI'ers out there). Total project came out to around 1200$ That includes HFCs, resonators, mufflers, removal of the old system, 2.25" piping and installation of the new one.

Power is really felt throughout all gears including 5th which is usually a sleepy gear. I love the sound throughout the curve, its quietish at lower rpms. The only complaint I got is the raspyness at around 3-3.2k RPM but I should've gona w/a V8 if thats such an issue.

Thats not too bad considering that price includes the HFC's and removal installation. I have a feeling the more the mufflers and resonators break in the drone is going to be annoying after a while.

well considering he had to buy 2 mufflers, 2 resonators, and the HFC's the price isn't bad.... A lot of people just buy mufflers and have just plain pipes bent into it's shape and welded, they don't put out extra for resonators... and i think the HFC's are like 4xx bucks by themselves...

we definitely definitely need sound clips!! what kind of resonators are those? only thing i'm not real fond of is the really sharp bends going into the muffler... they could've tried to soften those bends a little. also, what model mufflers did you go with?

Press bent tubing FTL. A Fast Intentions setup is going for a tad bit more right now (tad being relative, you do own a G35).

Flow is Flow.....the price is OK for some Crush bent pipes though. You can see the diameter isnt the same throughout the system, they taper down to maybe 2" on the bends.

Its definately better than stock and definately going to make some power. Lets hear some sound clips.

you will lose some of the raspiness if you have them put the 4 sound deadners abck on where they are on the oem system. that is why stillen kept them functinal.

when i reved the car up to high rpms its would get raspy but when i put the 4 sound deadners back on it was fine.

Did the muffler man make the X pipe or was it a Magnaflow piece? Are the pipes stainless?

Only if you're running turbo, I don't think you could tell NA.
