As mentioned by some others already... handling is pretty much unchanged with the strut bar and lower tie braces installed. However, chassis flex is greatly reduced, which inturn helps to keep the suspension geometry from changing during hard corning. I can particularly tell the improved rigidity of the front end this the braces when going over curbs and speed-bumps at low speed.

I can particularly tell when going over a speed bump or a curb, and when hitting a pretty harsh bump at speed. The front end just feels much more solid. Definitely a mod I would recommend along with the GT Spec Front Strut Bar.

Now I just need my Hotchkis sway bars and a set of coil overs, and my suspension / chassis will be set!
How hard was this to install? Do all the necessary hardware "nutz, bushings, etc" come with the package?

thanks!

These are VERY easy to install. It only took about 30 minutes to install both sides and almost half of that time was spent jacking the car up and getting it on jack stands. The braces do include all necessary hardware to do the install. All you need is a 17 mm* socket wrench and a 17 mm box wrench, if you have it. (*I'm pretty sure they were 17mm... if not, they were 14mm)

^ Do they need to be torqued to a certain point? or just as tight as possible?

Oh and thanks for posting pics of the install, It'll really help me out once I come along to fitting these (well gotta order them first)

GT Spec didn't supply any specific torque ratings for the bolts, but they are 17mm bolts, so they can handle quite a lot of torque... I simply used the RFT technique for tightening them down (RFT = Really Freaking Tight). LOL

ok I want to clarify something, right now you have the Front Strut brace (the one in on top of the engine) and the L+R Subframce Tie Brace for the front? Nothing in the rear right?

No problem. When I bought it, GT Spec didn't even list it as a fitment for the G's, just for the 350Z... It just so happens that it fits the G35 and G37 as well.

Great news!! That means that Riverside should be getting their's soon too. I know that Rick told me last week that he should have them by the end of the month. I'll definitely be buying them from Rick, since he gives us such a good discount and I can also pick them up, so I don't have to wait for them to be shipped.

Just finished reading the whole thread. Nice mods 2GOorNot2Go. I just got my 08 G37S 6MT Blue Slate and am really impressed with the handling. I can't imagine it being that much better, but I guess it can be. :-)

Have fun.
