I thought about sanding it. The reason why I didnt wanna sand it on my first try is because I want to provide maximum protection for the CF beneath the sealant. I also wanted to make sure you can still see the CF beneath sealant with a minimum amount of urethrane but maximizing protection.

Also I gotta keep in mind the adhesive holding the CF to the trunk. if I manipulate the CF too much, im afraid I might compromise the adhesive too and then the CF wont stick to the slip and fail.

Its funny, I thought about that. The urethrane wont do for the front cuz of stone chipping.

Now if I worked with resin, then perhaps.

i'm confused, did you use real carbon cloth? or the imitation carbon fabric? if it's the latter... don't try and sand it!!

Yeah he used carbon pattern fabric.
And yeah Wes don't sand it cause you'll ruin the fabric.

Its hard though.. to make it look smoother. But in person, it does feel smooth. Maybe in pics it looks rougher. But its quite allright in person =)

Hey Soni.. I actually changed it up!

https://g35driver.com/forums/media-s...-out-rear.html

Just cuz the opportunity presented itself not cuz I was unhappy with the CF.

For the most part, it held up nicely actually. There was just a small part of the material that came loose a lil bit.. but I think thats more related to the lack of adhesive that I sprayed at that part. But the material truly became waterproof. You have plans of CF'ing something on the outside of your car?

I used a new kind of 3M when I repaired the door fabric in my daughters Civic.

It's MUCH higher temperature rated than the 77.
It's basically a spray contact cement.
You spray both pieces, let air dry, then put together.

You have to be careful assembling, but that stuff holds like crazy.
It's intended to be permanent.

It's something like 3M 90, but I'll double check the name when I get home.
I found it at Concord hardware, 9094 Leslie St. #6

I know this isn't the place but if anyone wanted a 2nd Gen Chrome lip to paint or carbon fibre, I have my lip off my 2nd Gen that I would let go for a cheap price (PM me if you want it).
