Great job on creativity with the emblem. That shot really shows the color difference. I painted mine gloss black and left the chrome upper and lower strips, but after seeing this plan on painting the whole grill satin. I'll leave the emblem chrome but the satin looks way better than the gloss IMO. Primarily because it matches the bumper inlets much better than the gloss.

Great job...

btw, what brand paints and clear did you use?

Emblemless was beyond my ability, I've never done bodywork, but I would of been willing to try if I was sold on the look. I saw pics of an emblemless grill, and it didnt strike me as what I wanted, here is a chopped shot if mine was, still prefer what I got:

The clear is Rustoleums Painters Touch Matte Clear

Looks good man.

I think gloss black looks better on lighter colored cars like IP and LP...I was thinking of doing satin black before I sprayed mine but figured the gloss black would give it a nice shine to go along with the pearl white. I love the results.

Definitely prefer satin on Blueslate cars. Emblem looks nice, ever considered color matching it Blueslate?

Thanks every1!!

I've seen pics of the body matched emblems, and I didnt think I'd like a BS one. I am not totally sold on the color I've got now, but its growing on me especially when the sun hits it (I really like it then), with lower light levels it looks like it matches the black grill. But I will probably leave it and move onto something else.
