New Kenwood Touch Screen Nav
New Kenwood Touch Screen Nav
Ok, I finally was able to come home on vacation and get my Kenwood Nav installed. I went with the Kenwood KOS-L702 Touch Screen, the KNA-G510 Nav unit and KSO-V1000 AV Controller with the Ipod adapter. I had the guys over at CarTunes in Atlanta install it. Corey was very helpful. I still have use of my steering wheel controls, as well as being able to view the info from the factory system. They ran a switch in between the heated seats buttons to switch between the 2.
Here are the pics. Let me know what you think.

Maybe the factory view can still be seen in the "Aux" mode of the head/screen unit. If so, this can be pretty interesting.....Please let us know more info about this. Can you still see the factory info and is it going into the unit view Aux input. Thanks!

Looks like the screen was replaced.

But how is he able to see the factory settings? Maybe the switch on the heated seats physically switches the screens back and fourth?? Explain please!

Sorry guys, been away from the computer. Ok this is what happened. I did replace the factory screen but I still have use of the factory system. Ill have to get pics of it, but there is a switch that they installed into the blank slot between the heated seats buttons. When running the new kenwood system, it has to be in aux mode or you wont be able to listen to it. I am able to flip the switch and change it back to the factory system to see the ac, maintenance info, gas mileage, comfort settings, etc. Also when switched to the the factory system, I am able to still use the 6 disc cd changer if I so choose. I mainly just use my iPod on the new kenwood system though.
Now as far as controls, when using the Kenwood system, the steering wheel controls still work and the volume button on the dash still works but thats it as far as the radio. When switching to the factory system, all the buttons on the dash work, however, the steering wheel controls dont work. I can only assume that this is because they set up the steering wheel controls through the kenwood KOS-V100 av controller. Its not a big deal to me though as I play everything through my iPod, or listen to the radio which also now goes through the Kenwood system.
Ill try and get more pics of it and show you how the factory info looks on it. Hopefully I can have that up by tonight or in the morning. Let me know if you have anymore questions about it.

Yes thats exactly what I did.
Thats the only reason I agreed on getting it done that way, was because I knew that I would need to be able to see the settings for the AC and what not.
