Thank you for all the info. I've been reading up on the Ake. swap for the G and reading about your most bitchin' paint job. I have started buying the calipers and getting everything together however I am stuck on the stencil's. Your link for decal-orations.com seems to no longer be a valid url. If you have any extra stencils or know of a place I can get them reproduced please let me know.

Just googling 'decal-orations' and shocked to see the number of complaints they had no wonder they closed... hope mike can help you out but otherwise im sure you can easily find the decals on ebay though

 

Oh wow, thanks for the heads up on decal-orations, i wonder what happened? Will remove the link from the site shortly. Sorry, i truly did have a good experience with them.

For stickers, they can be found anywhere. If you need stencils, any vinyl, sign or sticker shop can do it for you. It's practically the same as making stickers, except they give you the cut-out portion, instead of the filled-in part.

FWIW, stickers will likely be easier for the masses, and despite my testing nobody else seems to have a problem with them burning, browning or their adhesive unexpectedly coming off.

 

Great info Mike.. I'm looking to paint mine soon .. Anyone find another place online that does the stencils? I'd appreciate any kind of info.. Thanks
