Track Day Videos

Here's a few videos from Driveway Austin (www.drivewayaustin.com - check it out). I'll update as I take more vids.

All from Sunday - The first one is my first session on the track - its quite wet. Lapping behind the instructor in his spec Miata to learn the wet line. Second video is the first part of the second session - S2000 loops it towards the middle and I go for a little jungle expedition into the grass 2 laps after. The last video is the best as far as my laps, lines, inputs, etc - definitely going the fastest in the 3rd vid.

The last video is a small compilation from some video my friends took for me - the quality sucks due to iMovie.... oh well

Not without a wave by. I was following the Miata in the first video on purpose - he was showing me the line and we slowly got up to "race" speed.

If you watch the middle(ish) of the third video when I catch back up to the S2000 he gives me a wave by on corner exit onto the straight. Skip to about 5:55 in the 3rd video to see the only allowed passing on this particular section of the track.

I am using M mode. There's only two shifts on this section of the track. An upshift on the straightaway and a downshift into Monaco which is the very tight turn before the little chicane onto the straight. I'm using the paddles, that's why you don't notice it.

I did three more full sessions today and took my L1 test and passed, so I'm set to move on to the next, more challenging course. I'll have one video from today up here tonight and videos from the next L2 course once I do the school.

Love the videos!

What exhaust is that? Sounds nice, both in cabin and out.

Thanks man! Check back later and I'll have a cool wheel shot of my 350z trackers today

It's the cat-back Stillen. I absolutely love it - I get compliments on it ALL the time. Most importantly the guy at the BMW dealer . Did you check out the videos of the exhaust itself? They're on my channel on Youtube if you want to see more what it sounds like.

you may want to turn the sound off - sorry, lots of wind noise. Forgot to tape up the microphone

This awesome suction cup mount - holds any camera with the 3.5mm hole in the bottom.

Here's another cool angle

Looks like a fun time. I'm suprised they allowed someone to film from that spot in the 3rd one.
