Just finished up my car. Took me about 6-7 hours. Not prefect but I dont think I can get it like I would like. What are the tips?

 

Where are you having trouble? I noticed what helped me a lot was getting the cloth perfectly cut before I even sprayed on the adhesive helped quite a lot. I would lay down the trim and kept folding the cloth over to cut around things like where it would screw down and that panel for the settings buttons. The second thing I personally had trouble with was the ends I would keep pulling to make it tight but then I would end up having an ugly stretch mark on the cloth. The best advice that I got from phantom was just take your time. I did my drivers side trim over so many times and I was also not 100% happy with my passenger side. One night I just pulled them all apart and gave them a good clean and then spend over four hours installing the cloth on those two pieces.

 

If you haven't wrapped that thing around a pole by then.... I've seen you drive.

 

I finished everything even the center console but I did not do the ashtray thinking it would not stand out to much bc it looked a little diff. to do. It really does stand out tho. I will say my is not prefect but is it worth the time to redo it now? I might wait a little and think about it. The center console was very tricky.

I am still thinking about the center console myself.. at first I was sure I wanted to have it done but I do like the contract. In addition I was a little bit worried about how it would turn out. Post up some pics when you get some time I would love to check it out!

 

About to did the ashtray 100 times better. Its a must.

 

If anyone is interested I will be selling the door & dash area trim pieces soon.. lets say that the CF wrap gave me a taste to go for something else.

I love CF interiors, curious to see what it is that you have planned GBoy.
The thing that bothers me the most about parting out is selling my CF interior.

I know you're going back to stock but why pull the trim if you like it?
I can see bringing most if the car back to OEM but the trim is a minor touch that I think you could leave in.

I wouldn't want to pull apart your interior either Ian. It looks fantastic! I can see how you might want to however as I am sure can get a good amount of coin for the pieces.

In fact your interior is what lead me to love the carbon fiber look on our G's. While I like the love of the wrap much more then the aluminum trim it wasn't what I really wanted.

 

great job
