CF trim not only for all black interior.. right?

I recently picked up a few new additions to my interior. I figured if I can't mod much of my exterior during the winter, might as well work on the inside. This trim all started when I saw the trim pieces from IGT, I loved it! However I did not have the funds to pick up those babies. Then.. I ended seeing how good Wes' carbon fiber wrap turned out. Next, I saw how Brian had done a lot of the work on his trim pieces and ended up putting them up for sale. This is when I couldn't resist! Ended up picked them up and tried to make them look perfect!

This was of course easier said then done.. I must have done the drivers side over about five or six times and I would not end up happy with the end result. I would either stretch out the material too much and it would look warped or the space around the buttons would come out very jagged. Eventually I got some good tips from "phantom617" and he helped me out quite a bit on both the phone and from this thread on CF wrapping. I still see a little bit of bubbling around where the buttons are located but it is very minor at least for now. I might have to end up bringing it to phantom to make it look 100%! I am very happy with the end results and wanted to show off a few pictures in case anyone with stone interior would like to give it a shot. Enjoy the pictures!

Oh yeah did I mention I just got an M45 shift **** too..

thanks everyone! Spend a good amount of time on these babies and am very very happy with the results with the exception of a few very minor gripes. I know just a couple of nights ago I spend about four hours working on just the drivers and passenger side trim. I feel like I won't be 100% satisfied until they are all flawless.

Your interior looks absolutely fantastic.
I'm stunned at how good that CF goes with the lighter interior.

Wow.

Give it a shot man! I was quite worried as well mostly of getting into the door panels. Ended up taking a couple days working it piece by piece with a good friend of mine. Together we did it with no problems at all. I really had fun working on the trim even though at times it was very frustrating.

Yeah that drivers trim was the worst. I couldn't tell you how many times I just wanted to throw that piece out the window and just give up on the project. Glad I changed my mind!

Thanks Scott, I love the color contrast with the interior. I found myself escaping out of the house throughout the day just to look at the trim. I am very pleased with how it turned out.

Actually most of my DIYs I pulled from Wes' thread from his CF wrap. The wrap that I used you can get from.. www.neffywrap.com

When it came to the technique for wrapping that came from.. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...light=DIY%20CF

Next when you are ready to kill yourself from all the frustration of not being able to make it look just right I got a tip from phantom617 to cut a smaller square around the drivers side trim leaving a small amount of material. Then use some crazy/gorilla glue and leave it to set. When everything is dry hit it with a dremel and clean up the loose material. If that doesn't work for you I also found that if you use the method in the previous link by cutting a small X where the button hole is then make sure the back has plenty of adhesive and pull back the material with a good set of tweezers towards the back. However this can cause the buttons to stick if you have enough material tucked back.

When you get all the trim finally done use these DIYs to pull apart the door panels and trim...

Enjoy and have fun!!

Here is a closer look at the drivers side trim around the button area in case anyone was curious.

There is a slight bubbling around them although you really can't tell in the picture. If it gets any worse I will end up pulling the trim apart and doing it over once again. However like I said it is very minor.
