They're like a gunmetal grey

No sanding at all, just washed and degreased it and let it dry good

If you want it semi-permanent, then yes, sand it down. Otherwise keep the surface smooth so you can peel it off with ease.

Looks really good.

How does the plasti dip hold up against weathering? How well has it held up so far? Does it easily scratch from bits of gravel hitting it while driving or just general road wear & tear?

I have a 08 g35x Liquid Platinum color, haven't seen very many LP g's with black grille but think it would look really good.

^ had mine for a few months now and get behind construction trucks on the freeway more than i want. The grille, and plasti dip in general, has held up better than the paint on the bumper/hood.

Month and a half in, and still looking good. It holds up pretty well to weathering, and so far no fading, etc. No chips yet, and I do a pretty good amount of highway driving.

I think it's a legitimate question considering it takes more than 10 minutes. If it took 10 minutes to take the grill off, prep it, spray it (two coats), then nobody would ask about longevity.

On topic: I know this an old thread, but looks great, E.
