V3: Quick'n easy black grill

So, I got tired of looking at the midnight grill, and how the paint on the grill is metallic flake and the lower grill openings are flat black.

So, I thought "what the hell," I can peel it off if I don't like it.

Second coat drying:

My 4 Runner coming in next month has this huge, chrome, monstrosity on the front grill. That'll be plasti-dipped too:

Thanks, but Mike gets all the credit. BTW, this stuff is SUPER easy to use, and unlike spray paint, very forgiving if you get it a little thick in places.

3rd coat done.

Done, came out quite nice. As I said before, this stuff is really forgiving, and areas where I thought I had sprayed too much hardly showed any flaws. If the same mistakes were done with spray paint, the results wouldn't be as nice.

=) something where we can see the whole car. Close shots don't do justice. need something when you look it from the side/distance you know.

V3 stand for version 3. it's just something we did with rubber coating called PlatiDip. Everyone does different painting with it so we started numbering them.

plasti-dip....its more like a rubber coating that you can "peel" off if needed rather than a paint.

Also, I can confirm that it will peel off. In the area behind the Fuji, I taped over the two holes where the emblem's tabs insert into. When I peeled off the tape, the dried spray was actually pulling off with the tape (overlapped areas), so I had to hold down the edge of the plastidip and then pull up on the tape

Bro you know what I did so it wouldn't start pulling. Just use a razor blade and slightly go over the edges where the lines are. works pretty good.

Ya, but it was behind the emblem so I wasn't too concerned. At least I know it peels off relatively easy
