I just checked around a bit and your right, I guess it is something to look into. I actually found a guy that did it to all of his ZO6's body panels, wheels, and put a film on his head/taillights and windows. He claims that with his license plates off, he has an extra 5 seconds to react when being clocked on police laser. Now that's stealth...if you believe the guy lol.

They look much better than i had expected, if they hold off against road debris for a few months then this is a great cheap project!

Honda Accord
What kind of prep work was involved with this? I'm sure washing is a much, but did you have to sand it down or anything? I'm thinking of doing it on my beater G37 19s since I got 8 free cans of Plast-dip. lol

I mean hell, if it doesn't hold up for too long, just peel it off and apply new coats, it will look as good as the very first time you did it.

They look pretty good! You really should have gotten some brake caliper paint and painted your hub and your brakes. It really cleans up the look. I did mine and they have held up great!

It doesn't chip, it's rubbery. It will get dirty and discolor though. I sprayed my buddy's stockers like 4 months ago and there is virtually no change.

Regular washing works ok. But the best way to keep them looking good is to treat them the same way you would treat your tires. Just spray them down, wipe them off, and hit them with spray on tire shine. Not kidding.

no sanding involved with plastidip, all i did was remove the wheels rinse with water, dry, clean with alcohol and a towel then put the index cards between the tire and wheel gap and spray away!

also, if I spray clearcoat on top of the plastidip, will it be shiny glossy + look good? or should i just use tire shine?

So if I apply lighter and fewer coats would a smoked color be obtainable instead of full black?
