Talking IPL Engine Cover and Cusco Strut Bar

Just installed my IPL engine cover from Sewell's (best price on the net!). Placed the order and got it about a week later. My existing cover was damaged and I needed to replace it anyway. Plus, the IPL cover is an easy 5hp! Don't start flaming me, it's a joke.

I had already installed the Cusco bar I picked up from b2auto in Tampa. Very quick and easy install, came with all the hardware. I noticed a difference right away because I tend to take on and off ramps very aggressively. Tighter in the corners with less body roll.

Overall, I really like the look of the black cover since the car is black. Very tight fit between the bar and the new cover. Not rubbing but very little gap.

I think and exhaust system is next on the list!

imo, remove the IPL badge. its like putting M or AMG badges on a regular old 325i or C280.

Both BMW and Mercedes offer M/AMG badged equipment on their regular cars. It's a legitimate IPL part, no reason to remove the badge.

its a legit IPL part for a legit IPL car. its that simple. If the car isnt IPL from the factory, why badge it as one. why not put a M45 badge on the car too? Its a legit infiniti part.

LOL. If he really wants M45 badges on his car then it's fine with me too, it's his car. I was just pointing out that BMW does put M steering wheels as options on their 128s and Mercedes does put AMG wheels on their c250s and I'm sure at some point Infiniti will have IPL parts as options on their base cars. (I think they already have the body kit and exhaust as options but don't brand them IPL.)

I understand what you are saying, and I think it depends if you consider IPL a particular model of car like an M3 or a performance division like M. Just for the sake of argument, would you think it's okay to use the M3 engine cover in a 328 if someone had transplanted the M3 engine? Would it be okay to use the IPL engine cover in a G37 if the IPL engine were transplanted in? Is there really any difference between the G37 and IPL engine?

i totally agree that to each their own. he can do whatever he wants. but i strongly feel its tacky to badge a car with something that its not. in the case of engine transplants, then yes it is totally reasonable to put the badge on because the tuned performance engine is what makes the car a M or AMG or IPL. IPLs are "tuned" and are supposed to have better performance. So yes, there is a difference. And yes, i also think its tacky for BMW and MB to offer M and AMG parts for not M and AMG vehicles. If you want an IPL, buy an IPL. thats all i have to say, not really trying to start anything.

Looks nice! leave the badge IMO its in the engine bay not like its on the trunk(in which case i too would be against it) i also like the blue strut bar braces! ... besides the current IPL editions do not have enough difference in power at all to have a class of their own imo like the AMG and M but hope the rectify that down the road!

BTW the engine bay looks nice and clean, makes me wanna clean mine real soon!

Nice looking engine compartment! Like the cover and intakes but why the red grounding wires? Everything under the hood looks nice and clean but then your eye catches those wires....

I thought the red would stand out nice - stands out too much though. I plan to make my own set of black ground wires in the near future. I don't like some of the runs as they look cluttered, so I will lengthen a few of them.

Yes. And yes nismo badges are just as bad.
