Yeah and that can be used only once in a long period. I'd rather have to use it on an accident that totals my car, not just $1300 worth of damage. Most accidents are way more expensive than $1300. A repaint and blend already costs $800 in most auto body shops.

I hear ya, but not a lot of people have $1300 sitting around, especially to fix paint on a car. It all comes down to what works out best for the individual, whether it be pay it up front or over time.

I see your saving up for those Akenobos by recycling cans! Only 20k cans to go! Your paint condition is great I'm jealous.

Ouch. Insurance company won't like seeing those mods if you haven't listed it to them. (They also increase your premium if the adjuster sees mods since you are even statistically more of a risk.)

A zero deductible doesn't mean you don't still try to go after the other guy. You don't want to be reamed when your insurance has to pay out.

I got Geico, and I always have to be conscious when I file a claim so my rates won't go up drastically. I pay less than $1000 annually for full coverage with my car in central Boston ($500 deductible collision/$300 deductible comprehensive with no deductible glass.) I got a pretty good rate here (considering I live in a major city) and don't want to screw it up.

With mods too they're only gonna replace n quote for the OEM replacement part. Unless u listed the mods with, them n they adjusted the premium accordingly

Yep, and insurance companies can technically (if they're jerks) cancel your coverage for not having listed mods on your car when they ask you for it. They can claim that you were lying to them and misrepresenting your car. They don't even give you an OEM part; they just have to give you an equivalent part of like quality and condition.

In fact, many insurance companies just source junkyard parts or aftermarket parts to fix up your ride since the car is now old. They try to choose the cheapest repair possible for them.

This is all true. Most reputable shops will try to get good parts that are OE style but Not OEM. It is not the same. My ford excursion bumper is rusting in any spot there was a rock chip. The 8 year old factory bumper never did that. I will be talking to them soon about their "lifetime warranty"

Also, next time you can take the opportunity to upgrade things. My bumper and grill was damaged and was going to be replaced. So I asked the shop if they could put the newer front on it from a later model and they were cool with it I did pay for the extra support brackets and couple parts but they put it all on and painted it!!......Instant facelift and little cost out of pocket.

this is one of the times when u will be happy to get reimbursed for oem part prices since theyre usually pricey and will sometimes cost the same if not more than the aftermarket part that is damaged.

Finally got her back!

Hello all,
After a week and a few days I finally have (my dads g) back. The front bumper ended up having to be replaced due to some clips that were broken. Anyways I am very happy with the results and if anyone needs body work done I suggest going to Caliber Collision in Oceanside, CA and ask for Guy (yes that's his name). My father has dealt with him a few times in the past.
Well tonight I had some time so I washed the car and took some pictures.
That red beast in the corner was our rental nickname THE RED MARAUDER!!
