Visiting Chicago 2/1/08-2/3/08 Any Recommendations?
I'm visiting Chicago 2/1/08 - 2/3/08 with some friends. Any recommendations about things to do, places to see/visit, and especially places to dine. We're planning to stay near the "Magnificent Mile" (not sure exactly where that is) so I'm looking for places to dine in that area. Please give me some suggestions. Thanks
What kind of restaurant you looking for?? Cheap/Expensive? Steak? Seafood? A great steak place at a reasonable price is Wildfire. That place has great food (just as good as a Smith & Wolensky), and not nearly as overpriced. I go there all the time. Let me know what you're looking for, and I'll give you more suggestions.
suggestions as to what you want to do will def help, i usually stay at the W Hotel lakeshore, its got a great view of the lake and is close enough to most places. if you're into sushi then go to Mirai Sushi on Division, for steak i'm a fan of Gibsons and if you want a good place to get a burger and a drink then go to rockit. enjoy

We're actually going to Chicago because a friend of mine wanted to go to see Kaskade (house music) at a place called "Smart Bar". We might be interested in something along the lines of casual fine dining for one night, and the rest of our stay is casual dining. What else is there to do in Chicago besides visiting Sears Tower? Basically we want to experience what Chicago is known for, i.e. Chicago style pizza, hot dogs, etc.

The city has lots to do:
Navy Pier
Museum of Science & Industry
Michigan Ave & State St shopping
Adler Planetarium
Shedd Aquarium
Sears Tower skydeck
Art Institute
Those are your best bets (in no particular order). Be sure to get some authentic Chicago pizza like Uno or Giordano's.

i would suggest going to a blue man group or city limits.
it sucks because you will be visiting chicago at the worst possible time.
+1 on giordanos - deep dish pizza ftw!

I'd imagine you'll have fun visiting.
