Q for Chicago people
Q for Chicago people
What around Joliet area might be worth checking out? My company is sending me there for a week next month and would be interested to hear what there is. Any good restaurants or bars or anything?

Re: Q for Chicago people
My company has a plant there and we are doing a project. I'm a PC Analyst so I have to go along and assist with the project. It's not much of a project, just mostly install new PCs and replace the old ones. I have to be there for a week starting around April 12th but I have no idea what my travel plans are yet. How far is Joliet from Chicago?

About an hour. There is lots of good stuff before you get to the city too. How late will you be working? What kind of stuff do you like to do? I can make some suggestions possibly.
Re: Q for Chicago people
I'm not sure how long they plan on keeping me there but I'm sure I would be done by dinner time. At the very least I could use some suggestions for dinner. Sportsbar type or someplace with a nice selection of beer and good food.

Re: Q for Chicago people
Joliet has 2 riverboat casino's (both of which I am quite familiar with
) Harrah's and Empress. I have many friends that work at Harrah's and would highly recommend their steak house or if a sports bar/grill is more your speed they have an excellent one of those also. Oh yeah, you can gamble there too (duh). Empress casino is similar, very good steak house and sports bar/grill.
Other than that I've just been to several smaller bars in the area that aren't too exciting. Joliet really isn't known as a tourist spot, that is unless you like visiting state penitentiaries
There's also the Chicagoland Motor Speedway and Route66 dragway in Joliet but I'm not familiar with what's around there as far as bars/restaurants go but I'm sure there's something.
I would stick to the casino's as they are both very classy and a lot of fun.
Hope this helps!

Re: Q for Chicago people
Thanks for the info, a riverboar casino sounds fun. Anything else near the area? Doesn't have to be just in Joliet since I should have a rental car.

Wish I had the G35 here...rental Alero coupe just doesn't cut it. At least I will appreciate my car even more after driving this thing around for the week.
