Yep, i'm pretty sure my head would hit the ceiling in a coupe or at least not be the most comfortable as a DD. Do most of the NE/IA members have coupes or something?

Yea, for the most part. Theres one other sedan that rolls around here too. Same color as yours but with a few more goodies done to it.

Nope, obsidian black ftw!

I thought you were referring to biggerandbetter's wifes sedan. She's got an 03 dg with a turbonetics kit on it.

Ya i need to dig into some information on the better ways to spice up the sedan's performance. Probably wont be doing too much anytime soon, but at least read up on my options and see where it goes... minor or cost effective mods will be the most ideal right now.

The first couple of breather mods aren't too expensive, but after that you get into a whole different price point!

I have a Stillen filter and intake tube (pretty much a z tube) Kinetix HFC's and a Magnaflow dual cat-back. Just those mods have really opened up the engine quite a bit. I am right around 300 hp at the crank.

My suggestion would be to get an intake and at least a muffler. Maybe test pipes or hfc's depending on your budget.

A lot of people go for the JWT pop filter and z tube combo. It's not that expensive and it will really improve air flow into your engine.

Another great mod is a Motordyne plenum spacer, but that's a little more costly.

Exhaust options are going to vary greatly, depending on what sound you want and your budget. I bought my car with the magnaflow on it so I never really looked too much into exhaust components. Mine sounds perfect the way it is.

Research is going to be your best friend. I spent a good 2-3 months reading before I bought anything for my car.

Good luck to you and happy modding!

best way to spice up the sedans performance is........ trade it in for a 6mt.... LOL! Jk...

However, I will say our motors arent all that mod friendly. Meaning, you cant really do much to see any IMHO real gains without dropping a ton of coin.

Appreciate the suggestions. Ya I didn't expect a ton of noticeable performance mods to be in the lower price bracket, I mean its already a very well tuned and well thought out engine/vehicle right from the factory.

I did read a bit on the plenum spacer and it seems like a pretty nice option, one that I could do myself to save on labor for sure. My only concern was how much harder it is to install the isothermal one since that's the suggested one for our wonderful climate. The How-To I saw on the standard spacer seemed very straight forward, but I wasn't sure how much more needed to be taken apart to add in the extras for the iso-thermal version. Basically just don't want to go too advanced where I have a good chance at messing things up.

Z-tube or similar seems like a simple option to get a slightly more aggressive sound which appeals to me. Is there a suggested place to get one for the best price while still knowing it will be the same quality product? I assume the actual Z's don't upgrade this part to anything else so its not like there is another step-up to look into?

Exhaust will mostly likely come at some point, but probably not anytime soon. I can at least pay attention if I come across different ones already installed on someone's G and compare to help find my preference.

The spacer isn't much harder to install when you do the.ISO. I belive its just the sealant you gotta worry about. A z tube n Jim wolf pop charger will make a nice sound and they are easy to find and cheap.

IMO suspension and tires are What will make amore sense. Is your.car auto?

From bolt ons, you can easily gain a good 50-60 rear wheel hp, if not more. Granted those bolt ons will be 2-3k, but when your talking hp it's all expensive.

I buy a lot of my parts from z1auto or z1motorsports. The latter has the Stillen Z-tube for cheaper than what it would cost to get an actual Z-tube.

Also, yes there are tons of other intake options for both our cars, and the 350z's. You can get titanium intake tubes, chrome, polished, long tube, short ram, etc.

x1 billion. Suspension and tires will make the most noticeable improvement in performance.
