Just bought a loaded 07 G35x this weekend and drove it up to the cities from Chicago. 93.5k miles on the odo after the drive, but she rides like a dream. Hoping to have some fun with it, but like my $15k budget on the initial purchase, I'm on a "career student" budget on any mods.

(Only picture I have as of yet as the car looks white from all the salt after the drive)

I really want to do this...

https://g35driver.com/forums/v36-eng...t-my-g35x.html

And maybe a transgo/vb upgrade at some point... Coming from a 6MT maxima I really miss the nice hard shifts of a manual.

But we'll see. I bought a high mileage car at a low price (almost $12k cheaper than Wannabe :-) ) and don't want to drop too much more money on my new toy.

Car is (over)due for its 90k maintenance so I've got some work cut out for me already. I figure I can do all the easy stuff (filters, throttle body, engine oil) but am thinking it's best to get all the other oil flushed. There's also a couple spots where the paint is chipped and starting to rust (which I will probably take care of myself... just a few smaller-than-pencil head areas on the edges of the bumper and trunk lid)

My buddy recommends Lehman's in south Minneapolis. Anyone have a better recommendation or want to help me out? :-)

There are actually quite a few great detail shops around the metro. I'm currently checking into one as we speak, I'll let you know my results.

As for your cars maintenance, are you still under an extended warrenty by chance? IF SO, I would highly recommend taking the car in for the overhaul to make sure everything from top to bottom gets checked out, especially after just purchasing it. That way you feel confident in absolutely everything from the start.

...now, w/ that said, get ur butt over to the other forum ;-) http://myg37.com/forums/midwestern-37/

Nope, no warranty... Car's already at 93.5k miles and was a lease return. The throttle body is certainly full of crap but everything else looks well maintained the serpentine looks brand new even.
