hi guys, Im currently car shopping and the g35 is on my list. Just thought I'd get some advice from local g35 drivers. I read through the forum and seems like theres a good number of d bag and flamers so I thought I'd stick to local, sorry no offense. I know about the oc issues and will be looking for 03-04 but if I come across any good deal 05+ I will def. look into them. Any advice or tips I should know about these cars? I've seen a few g35 over 70-80K+ miles, anything I should be aware of on these high milage cars? I'm upgrading from a honda so I'm use to high milage but not sure on how these cars hold up.

G35s are fairly sturdy above 100k. Very minimal issues and no large ones that i know of other than the oil pooling in the spark plugs (which is pretty rare)

OC is only 05-06 sedan 6mts and 05-07 coupe 6mts and is completely hit or miss.

Umm, other than that, just regular maintenance. I know theres a few on here who have hit the 200k mark on their 03s and others who are at 150k+ and have 0 issues and drive their cars every day.

My biggest advice is that you should buy mine I'm half kidding-I have an 06 and it only has a tick over 3000 miles on the new motor so you don't have to worry about high mileage for a while

A great site to see info and changes from year to year is infinitihelp.com Are you looking at getting a coupe or sedan?

That's a good question...There was a time I would have asked for blue book which would probably be about 22K for my car but from the trend I've been seeing, it looks like cars can be had for less than that now in this economy so I'd have to see what I still owe but if I were to guess, I'd say probably say around 20K. Mine's a silver one though:

I got spray paint Besides, that's EXACTLY why you NEED a silver one! I was actually tempted to throw a blue pearl coat over the silver but decided I'd wait until the car needed a respray. I'll say this though...I've seen more black, white, and red G's around than my silver. Especially black-I think there are like 5 guys on the local board that have a blk G.
