Moving from memphis to chicago
Moving from memphis to chicago
Im moving to chicago in a couple days. I wanted to know if I would be able to drive my car in the winter, since its a whole different winter season up there than down here. Im curently dropped with 19 inch staggered wheels. Also have the aftermarket K2 front bumper. Are the roads clear enough that I wont tear up my car?
Yikes, good luck with that one! Have you ever watched the show 'Wrecked' that has been on tv the last couple of years?? You couldn't pay me enough money to want to live in that kind of climate. Southern Missouri is bad enough!
Get a winter beater and park the G.
It's certainly do able if you buy some different rims and Blizzaks, but its a huge pain. Plus with all the salt and your car being dropped you're going to have to wash it every few days.

The roads are usually cleared pretty quickly. You will get stuck if you're parking on the street and will have to dig yourself in/out. There are maybe 5 or 6 days I can't drive during the winter on stock wheels with all seasons, you will have a hell of a time on summer tires with aftermarket wheels. The wider the tire the more you slip in the snow.

Hey I can certainly relate to that, I am looking for some winter tires now which you should start doing too. I've lived here my whole life and some winters aren't no joke! I hate snow but I am putting the G away for the winter and using my beater (crown Vic....). I will still drive it out when there is no snow..Hit me up if you need to. Anyone else here from Chicago hit me up maybe we can hit the streets and cruise one last time before it gets cold. laters! nani22305@yahoo.com
Well im moving back to des plaines, up north of chicago. I was raised there too, but when I was in jr high my step dad transfered to the south. ANYWAYS ME AND THE SOUTH DONT MIX, im tired of living here so Im moving back. Oh yea another reason, I told myself when I have a family Im not going to raise them in the south. When I moved down here I was 2 years ahead in school. Thats how slow the education is down here.
Plus theres no motivation down here its all ghetto and farms. I could deal drugs or have a farm. Atlanta is the only city in the south I liked when I went.

In memphis its still from 9-5 and everything is 10-25 minutes away. I love chicago, walked down the street at night and saw a decent person walking as well. In memphis I would get stopped by a cop (even in the susburbs) and harrased or get mugged.
^^^^lol...wait till next summer...youll see alot of decent women walking especially in downtown...its getting cold again so the skirts are gone and they are moving indoors....what part of chicago are you at?
