Brakes!
Brakes!
Hello,
I live in the Chicago land area. Where should I take my car to have the brakes checked/repaired? I really need to find a repair shop to keep my 2006 G35 in tip/top shape
I do not want to have to go to the Dealer!
Thanks in advance.

Google will tell you where all the brake shops in your area are located! What it won't tell you, which one will fix them right and which one won't! I love independent brake shops where that's all they do is brakes or brakes & alignment. Talk to guys working at auto parts stores, your friends and neighbors. Word of mouth is the best advertisement. Stay away from places like PepBoys, Sears and all tire stores like Goodyear and Firestone. Knowledgeable good mechanics don't work at those places

Google is a start vs asking all of us that don't live in the Chicago area who to take it too..How would we know...Its just brakes...Not like asking for a reputable builder for a project car or something..Not tryin to be mean ,just sayin...

Thanks much Gary, that's exactly what I'm going to do! I wish I could replace my own brakes, it's not my expertise. (Staying in My Lane) Furthermore, I'm a gal.

Just 'cuz you're a gal doesn't mean you can't learn how and then do it. It gives a lot of us a sense of pride and satisfaction when we work on our cars ourselves. I have personally put over 400 hours of work into my car over the years. But that might not be your thing and that's cool, another suggestion would be go to our regional sub-forums and look for the Chicago group and ask this question there.
