Really going to suck for me. I live in LaPorte which is an hour behind South Bend (where I work) right now. On my late days the shift ends at 8:00 South Bend time, but by the time I drive home its about 8:00 LaPorte time (cause we're an hour behind). If the time changes, that means I wont get home till almost 9:00 every late day, and 7:00 every early day. Don't mind that in the winter, but its really going to blow in the summer.
I think IN has more in common with Chicago time than New York time. Besides, who gives the politicians the right to change everyone's schedule? Its been working for years just fine.

I don't think it has been "working for years just fine" at all. It is costing thousands of jobs in central Indiana because distribution, transportation, call centers, and many other national and global businesses won't locate here because of the time issues.
I agree we have more in comon with Chicago and it would be better for Indiana to be on Central time. But we do not control what time zone we are in. That is the Federal government's decision. We can petition for a change, but the fact is there must be a time change line running somewhere. And there are a lot of areas that deal with one just fine.
But refusing to go with the universal daylight savings time standard is just silly. No one knows what time it is here, schedules at call centers and distribution locations would have to change to support the coasts, and so on.
You may not work in an industry where it is a big deal but there would be more oppotunities for you to do so if we followed the same standard everyone else does.
Would DST cause problems for some people? Yes. But not nearly as many as are being caused by a lack of jobs.
That's my .02.
