Hot Import Nights is right around the corner(7/26); I would like to finalize a meeting place where we can eat and then drive to McCormick.

I was thinking that we could meet at either Old Orchard, Woodfield, or maybe Rock-n- Roll Mcdonalds around 6ish.

Please provide me with your preference so we canfirm up the meet.

Hi Nepog3 and all Chicagoans!

Hope we get a ton of interest in this! It looks real cool and I've heard it's a great time to talk cars and mods! I've got people from where I work getting psyched for this event too! I'm definitely up for it, especially since my wife's looking to go to Vegas for this weekend!

I'd like to suggest that we meet somewhere early for dinner too. Rock & Roll Micky-D's might be too crowded though (don't want those door dings!). I like Schaumburg and there are a ton of restaurants. However, for any close to the City folks, this may not work. Perhaps if we get ideas of people's favorite fare, we can pick a downtown or near downtown place to meet. I'm rela into sushi, Chicago style pizza, and big juicy steaks. Gibson's would not deter me, nor would pizzaria uno. Also there are some great sushi and teppan style japanese restaurants downtown. So peops who are interested, post your favorites and we'll see what fits our styles!

To put this post up to the top, I'm posting a reply as a reminder that Hot Import Nights is this Saturday, the 26th. Anyone confirming that they're going, please post! I'm doing my best to go, with or without my Wife. She's not a big car nut so it's hard to get her interested. She says I'm obsessed with my car and I need to move on to something else! I say B.S.! She's driving the Mercedes and living the good life. I'm having fun with my G and love everything about it and want to participate in the Chicago events that are going on in the import scene! I'll be letting you know what's up as the day approaches and let you know if I can go or if I get railroaded by my Wife and stymed by her!

Update on HIN for me. My Wife's grandmother (96 yrs old) is in town from Vegas. We've set plans to take her out for dinner that night. I bet we go early and finish around 7:30-8:00. I told my wife I still want to go to the car show and she waid we'll see. Drop me a PM with your cell phone number and I'll call you Saturday once I get in there so we can meet up!

Unfortunately...I won't be able to make it to HIN; however, I'll see you guys at car boutique on 7/31. I've been to numerous car shows with my ex-car. I miss my old car...she was a beauty and won 6 trophies for me. Anyhow...just to give you guys heads up for HIN...well...the environment is like club environment. Dark, loud music, girls, vendors, etc, I hope you guys have a blast at the show...and look out for our fellow g owners at the show.

I wish I have my G already so I could join you guys but my order probably won't come in until end of August or so. I will be going to Hot Import Night though. If you guys are still undecided about a meeting place to eat, I have a suggestion for you guys. How about Connie's Pizza on Archer Ave. They have a huge parking lot there and the pizzas' pretty good also if anyone never had it.

I'd recommend the Hooters in Schaumburg near Woodfield Mall, lots of car groups meet up there. I might be there with some Integra owners.

Nepog's idea is good. I can't leave Lake Zurich for McCormick Place until like 7:30-ish. so I would probably arrive at the front door around 8:30-9:00 like Nepog suggests. If that sounds good to you, it sounds good to me! The dinner idea sounds great but I have a dinner commitment to make tomorrow so I'll be late! I wish I had the time to. Sorry.

To the new members posting here on this thread - Welcome! Hope you can go! I'll PM some of you about tomorrow so I can get cell numbers and I'll make calls once I get there so we can meet up.

As Robert said about HIN, he thought it would have more performance vendors with real stuff for cars, not all the bling bling that was there. If only it was more like SEMA, it would have been a lot better! But we did have a good time and we drove in together and back home so that made it more fun!
