New intro and lighting question.

Hi all I am a new G35 coupe owner. Got a 6spd Diamond Graphite here in the Chicago burbs with 1200 miles. Anyways, just wanted to say hi to all and also a quick question. I assume the orange side markers are supposed to blink when using the turn signal. Mine doesn't. Also I'm not sure what those lamps on the side of the headlights do, but it seems I only have one working. Is that the way it is supposed to be? Thanks all.

Re: New intro and lighting question.

Welcome to G driving. Great to have you here and I hope you can come out and join us sometime. I'll look at my lights and see what they do.

The orange ones on the side are blinkers for sure. My guess is that the other lights you are talking about my be high beams. Not sure though. Will check it out and let you know. You also may want to ask on the Coupe forum. Lots of people with great technical info.

Re: New intro and lighting question.

coreyen,

Welcome to G35driver.com and the Midwest forum. Look forward to seeing you around the posts often and I look forward to your contributions! Check this Midwest section often as we're always trying to get together and have meets and events and stuff! Hope you'll be able to participate!

As far as you're questions are concerned, I'm a sedan owner but I have checked out the coupes and I know a few things about the differences between the cars. The side markers are to my knowledge, not blinkers, at least on the sedan. I've installed bright LED bulbs in them and when I checked the polarity, I had to turn on my lights. When the LED's came on and the polarity checked, I turned on my turn signal. No blinking. The turn indicator light is in the main headlamp housing and is a amber circle about 2.5" in diameter. There's a reflector in the housing that sends the light to the side to indicate a turn. It can only be seen at the front of the car though. The side marker is an illumination light that simply tells other drivers that you're there. The other lamps you ask about are front marker lights that simply also stay on and don't blink. there like a sentinal lamp that stays lit whenever your lights are on. They're more a "looks" feature that a purpose server. If one's not illuminated when the lights are on, take it back to your dealer to install a new bulb or place the bulb back in it's housing. It may have just come loose and it's not in it's socket. LMax and myg35zx can porbably verify and double check my answers as they're the coupe owners around here!

Glad to see you and we look forward to meeting you. Check the new post I put up about the next upcoming G35 meet in Chicago!

See ya around!

Tim!
