ANOTHER cop thread - need some help!

Let me start by saying even though it was windy as all hell and snowing, Chicago is great! Everyone I spoke to was nice, and the cold air and snow was a nice break from the 80s we cant get away from in south FL. The wind is another story

So Tues night I drive into town, meet a friend for dinner, and on the way out make a call to ask for directions as I am a little turned around (only been in the state for 15 hrs, in Chicago for 2 hrs at this point). A cop asks me to pull over, I do, and he explains I am not allowed to be on the phone while driving. Understandable, I agree with the law. But could the ***** at least give me a warning??? He was very polite, good humored but wouldnt even take into consideration I DONT LIVE THERE and gives me the ticket. Is anyone honestly expected to know every single traffic law in every city? WTF?

So, anyone know someone in Chicago that can help me out? I dont want to ignore the ticket as I would like to drive next time I'm up! Thanks

when I was down there at GRD, the guys at the shop let me know NOT to talk on my cell while driving in the city. Cops are pretty strict on enforcement (obviously) pulling over anyone on a cell while driving and handing them a $75 ticket.

Pay the ticket and forget about it.

You should've gave you a break. Anyway, this is the best law they've passed in a long time. I'm so glad they're actually enforcing it. Now if they could only extend it to the 94, I would be totally happy. There's nothing like a person on the cell phone coming into your lane while going 70 mph.
