Oil change @ Dealership in Chicagoland
Oil change @ Dealership in Chicagoland
..just curious who in my area has taken their G35 in for their first (or 2nd, or 3rd..) oil change to a dealership? And which one did you go to, what was the price, how long did it take, and were you satisfied??
The reason for all the questions is I'm taking mine in for it's first today after work to Motorwerks, but if I can get it done for cheaper, faster, or better somewhere else I'll gladly take it there.
Any comments appreciated!

kdog,
Just did mine on Saturday the 17th at Motorwerks. They charge $34.95 and they finish in like 30 minutes. They rack the car, remove the bottom panel, and take good care of the car! I am very satisfied with the service work they do. They use Castrol GTX 5W30. I don't know about any other dealers and what they charge. I know it may not be the cheapest but it's fast and they do good work. Plus, on Saturdays they do Oil changes and a free car wash from like 9 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon and no appointment needed!

Need Exhaust, Twin Turbo or NOS!

Re: Oil change @ Dealership in Chicagoland
I have had everything done at Infiniti of Lisle. I have had 4 oil changes there. It is $29.99 and I do it before work. Usually takes 20-35 minutes depending on if there are any recalls. Oil change is fine. They do wash the car but they don't do a good job on it. Kind of a drag.
Re: Oil change @ Dealership in Chicagoland
Geez, how are you guys racking up those miles so fast?? I've had mine since March 17 and this was my first oil change! I guess it doesn't hurt I'm only 12 miles from work...
Anyways, I my total was $36 something. I wonder why Chiphead you only had to pay $34?? Only $2 but just curious. To me it sounds expensive either way - I'm used to paying $20 for my Mitsubishi (done at the dealership). I was, however, *very* impressed with Motorwerks waiting room! Free coffee and pastries, nice lush leather chairs and sofas, dims lights, a 36" plamsa TV on the wall w/surround sound speakers!! I felt like I was in a nice hotel lobby. Plus it's on the 2nd floor with a huge window overlooking the service garage so you can see where your car is at at all times. That made the wait (about 45 mins) much more bearable...

Re: Oil change @ Dealership in Chicagoland
I've had my car since Oct. 20 miles each way to work and the car is fun to drive. Makes it easy to rack up the miles. Sound like you get great service at Motorwerks. Too far of a drive for me though.

I get mine done at Field's in Libertyville. It costs $35-something and they do a fine job, plus you get the comp wash. I bring it in in the am, get a loaner and pick it up after work.

kdog,
I think It's $34.95 at Motorwerks or something like that. I bring my 10 yr old son on Saturdays and he goes into the showroom and plays with the $100,000.00 Mercedes and Bimmers so to me it's worth the little extra to get it done at MW. I have 11K miles on the car and bought on Nov 1st 2002. 1 year anniversary coming up soon!!! Ride to work is 12 miles too! I don't think that's too many miles - a little more than the average 12K per year.
