Two months in heaven.
I bought my '04 coupe two months ago. I've put 1,000 miles on it since
I think I lucked out because it's a 6 speed with Brembo's, a "Z" tube and Stillen sway bars. After years of driving American cars, this little thing amazes me everyday.
Question, I believe this car was rated at 280 HP. The new "Rev-up" motors are rated at 298, correct? I don't have the money for F.I. Outside of nitrous will the intake spacer and a good exhaust bring me up to at least 298??? I have noticed that compared to American, this thing is expensive to modify for very little results.

~250hp to the wheels would be the most you would see a stock 298hp pull on a dyno, likely less. The HP ratings are at the crank, not the wheels, so you have to account for drivetrain loss. If a stock 298hp was pulling well over 250hp on a dyno then it's making more than 298hp.

It's not an analogy, it's reality. Expect 15%-20% loss due to powertrain. If you truely dynoed 246hp (I don't buy the 262 number) to the wheels, that's 290hp at the crank with 15% drivetrain loss (A 5AT will lose a bit more). 280hp stock, plus z-tube and exhaust, I'd say 290hp at the crank is a valid number.

These engines are hard to get anything out of since they're already so highly tuned from the factory.
You will see very modest gains for any mods on this ride.
Enjoy

Apparently you have missed every other discussion and all the dyno sheets proving Infiniti fudged the numbers on the "260hp" sedans. This was a marketing ploy to make the coupes appear more sporty, however it has been proven time and again that the "260hp" engines dyno exactly the same as the 280hp versions with the same transmission.
Your "260hp" sedan, my "260hp" sedan, and every other "260hp" sedan out there has the same 280hp engine producing the same 280hp right off the showroom floor.
Do a search, you'll find a number of hits. Even earlier in this thread I said the 260hp engines were de-rated on paper (by marketing). Your Z tube and exhaust have yielded ~10hp at the crank, well within what you should have expected.
