I get my brand new coupe tomorrow!
My modded 2003 WRX broke after 120k miles of beating the crap out of it so it was time for me to get a new car. I narrowed down my options to a g35 coupe, a lexus is350, and an STi, and finally decided on the g35!
The lexus was very fast and had some sweet luxury features but didn't have a manual tranny and the stability control was a little too restrictive. The STi would have been faster yet I'm sure but the new body style is quite ugly and I am so sick of working on that engine that I had to try something new.
So anyway I got obsidian with wheat interior (no black on black for me
) with the premiuim package, rear steering, and the 'aero kit'. I haven't owned a real rear wheel drive car before so this should be fun.
The test drive was awesome I felt like I already knew how to drive the car, heel toe downshifting was almost identical to my WRX. I even peeled out in the demo car for about 15 or 20 feet, something I could never do in the WRX obviously, and it felt so natural. I just love how connected this car is to the driver. The moment I saw how much the shift **** was shaking with the engine I knew this was the car for me.
I'm picking it up tomorrow around noon -- I can't wait! Has there been any general consensus about how to break in the engine yet or does no one know for sure? (yes I searched there's lots of ideas out there it seems)
Oh yeah by the way awesome forum! I look forward to learning a lot here =)

For engine break-in, just follow the manual. No full throttle, keep it under 4,000rpm's, no cruise control, and all this for 1,200 miles (or for however long you can hold out
).
Congrats on the car and post pictures when you get it.

Congrats and welcome! Why do you have to wait for the car can't you take it home the same day? I don't think I can sleep knowing that I have a new car waiting for me the next day. LOL!

Just change the oil after 1000 miles, infact i went to the canyons with only 300 miles on the car and i was on 4000 - 6500 rpms for about 40 mins.
