New guy with a 06 DG G35C

Hi guys,
I've been reading the forums for a few years now, and I got a 06 DG Coupe 6MT prem. no navi (I wish I had it though ) a month ago. Just thought I would introduce myself and be a part of the community

Here's what I've done to the car so far:
installed license plates
scraped my passenger side rear rim
roadkill (suicidal crow. on the highway. damn )
burned clutch a lot

lol anyway, being a newb, i have some questions:

1) when you guys start moving the car, how long do you keep the clutch on the engagement point? I find myself holding the clutch where it engages while I apply gas in first gear (takes like 3 sec to get my foot completely off of the clutch), and I think I'm wearing out the clutch too fast..

2) just did a DIY oil change today, and I filled the oil up too much.. the mark goes way up to where the first bend starts on the stick.. up above the H sign.. should I drain some oil? would i be doing any damage?

3) since i have no money now, i thought the only "mods" i could do was debadging or maybe re-bading with skyline and 350gt emblems... do you guys think it's "rice"? I think the 350gt definitely looks better than the g35 emblem.. don't know about "skyline"

anyway, sorry for the long first post. I hope I can fit in and learn a lot more so I can hopefully contribute to the forums better... Thanks!

Welcome, ndlive, and congrats on the new coupe.

1) just long enough to get the car moving alowing full engagement of the clutch.
A little practice will allow smooth engagement and only a little slip time.

2) not sure how high your is, but if it's too high, the crankshaft will slop in the oil and cause foam allowing the oil pump to suck air......no good.
If it were me, I'd drain it down slightly to the proper level.

3) many here have debadged or rebadged to (Skyline) 350gt. It's a popular mod.
No I don't consider it rice at all.

Enjoy the new ride bro, and happy modding. I look forward to hearing your views on the ride.

Colin.

1) Just practice, you will get the hang of it.

2) Fix it ASAP, even if you have to drain it all and re-fill.

3) Not a fan of the swap unless you do everything including the seats, steering wheel, ect...
