I love the rear wheel drive feel....feels like my old 79 z28.....but better.
picked up this beauty for $22,000(has 24k miles on it) after I traded in my '00 Accord. not bad for such an awesome automobile......now can someone tell me about these tire pressure sensors and the cost of new tires for these new fangled cars.

nothing wrong with the tires, just thinking of the future.

What specifically do you want to know about the tire pressure sensors?... As far as cost of tires, like most things it depends on which ones you get... price varies greatly!

 

well, I heard that cars with these pressure sensors HAVE to buy tires from the dealer or the sensors won't work, or the light will stay on or something. and the tires from the dealers are extremely expensive.

 

Welcome and congatulations on the new car. The statements you have posted above are not true. When you get around to it, shop for tires just as you would with any other vehicle.

 

Congrats, Flash, and welcome to the G35Driver boards, as well. With regard to the TPS sensors, in general, this is what happens . . . There are 4 tire pressure monitors located, one each, in your wheels. When a default lower tire pressure measure/reading is sensed they will enunciate an "!" symbol on you instrument cluster. I am not familiar with the pressure reading for default enunciation to activate on a sedan. However, I am sure that someone will chime in.

In the future, you can either "Search" your query first or address your questions in the appropriate sections of the boards. You find that the members here are quite friendly and helpful.

Per my 05 owner's manual:

If the vehicle is being driven with a low
tire pressure (lower than 25 psi: Sedan
17 inch and Coupe 17 inch wheel model /
27 psi: Sedan 18 inch wheel model / 28
psi: Coupe 18 and 19 inch wheel model),
the low tire pressure warning light comes
on, and the chime sounds for about 10
seconds.

 

as others have said this is false... if you get after market rims at some point it could be an issue... You can use any brand tire (just be sure it's correct size) and the sensors will work fine.
