Is it next Friday yet? (Pics added!)

Hi all, I'm expecting delivery of my new G35x by next Friday, 7/27.

I picked it out last Saturday from my local dealer's stock inbound from the factory. It's platinum graphite, graphite interior with wood trim, premium package, splash guards, and cargo net. I jumped back and forth between wanting the Nav/Tech packages, as well as the rear spoiler, but I'm happy with my decision to leave all three out. I have no use for the Nav because I'm planning on purchasing a portable unit for when I travel, and I couldn't justify the tech package when I know I don't really need it. I liked the look of the spoiler at first, but after looking through pictures on here I decided I'd go with the euro spoiler instead if I want one.

I'm coming out of a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire, white w/ 2-tone gray interior, and I'm content with my decision to pick up the G as my daily driver. It will give me all the things I'm looking for...AWD, ample passenger room, sport, luxury, and style. I started out looking at a 2007 Subaru WRX Limited Sedan, then switched over to a 2008 Subaru Legacy GT Limited, and eventually ended up here.

I still have a thirst for a 2-seat sports car, which I intend to fill at some point over the next year. I actually have a 2008 Mercedes SLK55 AMG on order, but setbacks in production date won't get it here until mid-September, 2 1/2 months after I had originally expected it. I'm now thinking about being practical and just driving the G for the next 6-8 months, then picking something out in the spring instead. Now that the 2008 Corvette is coming out, I'm considering that over the MB.

Anyway, thanks everyone for the wealth of great information on here, it has made the last 2 weeks very useful.

Heh, everyone says the same thing...pick up a Z06 and call it a day.

As for the SLK, the 6.2L isn't going into it, at least not any time this year. It's "possible" that they'll introduce a timeframe in the fall if they unveil the "facelifted" version, but that's just speculation at this point. The 2008 is still an SLK55, and my neg. price was 65K (sticker is 69255, potentially 800 more if the gas guzzler tax goes up).

Well, it got to the dealer a week early and I picked it up last Saturday, 7/21!

Unfortunately, I had to fly halfway across the country for business the next day, so no pictures until now.

One from the dealership when I pulled up:

I'm hoping to be able to go out and take some real pictures before next weekend (when I leave again for the week...)

I'm in the market for an identical vehicle, could you please post (or PM me) what you paid for it? Thanks and it looks amazing!
