Hey all,

I just wanted to check in since I'm now officially a G35 owner. I picked up my car yesterday. It is a 2007 G35s 6MT w/ Premium Package and Splash Guards. I got the Platinum Graphite with Graphite interior.

I was a little concerned with the clutch before I drove the car because Edmunds.com's long term test had a few complaints, but I had no problems at all. I think it's great.

I had been considering a Lexus IS250 6-speed, but that car was too cramped for me. I'm 6'3", so the back seat in that car was useless when I was driving. That is not even mentioning the weaker engine. The power in this car is amazing! I am coming from a 2004 TSX 6-speed and that was fun to drive, but this car is in a whole other class when it comes to power.

congrats. clutch/tranny not the smoothest when you're driving slowly around town, but works great when you're shifting fast or heel/toe.

i too considered the is250 mt, but found the back too cramped as well. i fit a britax marathon in the middle seat of my g35 no problem.

I was considering the IS as well but lexus is just way too overpriced and plus i'm turning in my leased FX so i figured i'd get a better deal with the G and i always wanted one anyways

I was pulling out my wallet to buy a 2007 IS 350 when the dealership for the third time told me that they did not have the car that they said they did on the phone.
I drove 1000 feet to the Infiniti dealership just to "Look". I drove the G35S sedan and I left with it.
Much more car than the IS350, $3k less, and a real back seat. What a machine!

 

I had been looking at the IS250 because the 350 with the options that I wanted would cost more than I wanted to spend. I was surprised to find that they could not find ANY IS's with the Mark Levinson package (with or without NAV) and would have to special order one if I wanted to get the upgraded stereo.

My wife and I went into the Infiniti dealership thinking that we would just test drive the G35 and then think it over some more. However, once I drove the car and she saw it, we both agreed that there was no other competition for the price. We got a price that we were happy with so we bought it and drove off with it that day!!
