8 speed transmission? The is-f is gonna be one hell of a sport sedan. I wonder how much it will list for.

IS350 is no competition to the G. However if you wait 6 months or so and trade it in for a IS-F, now thats a whole another story. Cant wait for those babies to come out, definitely gonna be my next car.
Actually the IS350 is the closest comparable car the the G, sure the G is a better value, but as far as acceleration, road holding and overall size it's closer to the G than any other car (including the BMW 335) and has been tested to run a tenth ot two faster in the 1/4 mile. I'd still much rather have the G but I did test the IS and the 335 prior to our G purchase and the IS does give the G a good match

As far as the IS-F, yes it will raise Lexus up a couple notches in their quest to compete w/ BMW in the sport sedan segment, but the new Nissan GT-R will launch Nissan past BMW and into Porsche/Ferrari territory. So for those of you waiting for the IS-F, you might want to save a bit more and go for the gold
Here's a bit of info on the GT-R

Sounds like you're dissatisfied w/ the G35. If that's the case, definitely get rid of it and get the IS350 - just make sure you test drive it extensively first.

To minimize the hit, I'd recommend finding either a low miles 07 IS350 or a dealer demo. Sure they may be abused a bit, but they still come with full factory warranty.

Personally, I like the G35 better than the IS. While the IS is nice, it just looks too much like a sport compact Scion and it is definitely more cramped than the G35.

In the cars I test drove before I bought my car (IS350, 335i, G35 Sport), I disliked the IS350 the most. Bland interior, no XM Live Traffic, suspension too soft.

Add cramped space, and outrageous price (try about 3K more) for similarly equiped one compare to the G35.

I'd take a TL-S ove an IS350.

EDIT: On the other hand, I think IS350 has a tad bit more aftermarket support as of today.
