Thumbs up Picked up my 08 G35S Tuesday night

I picked up my Blue Slate/Graphite 2008 Infiniti G35S with Premum Package, Navigation Package. The dealer also added tint, cargo net and (for free) wheel locks.

Wow!!! I had been driving a non-Sport with Premium but no Nav while I was waiting for my car, and there is a huge difference in the Sport and non Sport... the larger wheels and tires have more grip but also ride stiffer. The Sport seat is a lot more comfortable. And the Nav system (and Music Box) add a lot more to the driving experience. I had been looking at the BMW 335i but this car is so much closer to the 335i I really can't see spending that much more for the BMW.

I now look forward to working my way through the 1,200 mile break in period (avoiding going over 4,000 RPM, varying my speed, etc) but in the mean time I am extremely happy with my purchase.

I am a horrible photographer with a cheap camera, but here are a few pictures (so I don't get any "this post is worthless without picture" responses... ;

Yes, the G35S is a blast. Wait 'til you get past the 1200 mile break-in. Don't worry so much about sticking strictly below 4000 rpms. More important, as I guess you already know--so my apologies--vary the rpms. So you can get the car moving in lower gears even under 4000 rpms.

The ride is stiff, like a sports car, but not jarring.

I also passed on the 335 for the G. And I have blue slate/graphite combo on the 6MT.

Your G sure looks a lot bluer than mine. Mine is toward the slate end of the spectrum, Must be the Texas light or your photography.

Yup, my Blue Slate looks a bit "blue-er" than the Blue Slate I was driving as a loaner. I also think the color changes a lot depending on the light and time of the day. I really liked it when I saw all the pictures on this site and was determined to get it, then after ordering the car (none were in stock at any local dealer) I started to waver a bit, seing how nice Liquid Platinum looked and always liking (Obsidian) Black (my last car was a black Maxima). Then when my wife saw and liked the Platinum Gray at the dealer, I started to waver some more. But once I saw the Blue Slate again on my car I was happy with my choice. It looks "different", without looking trendy (eg all the teal cars out there) and has the right mix of sporty and luxury. I am really impressed with the color selection Infiniti offers... every one looks good.

The paint is really reflective too... I was noticing how many reflections showed up in the pictures. The front bumper looks like it has been mangled with all the reflections of the parking lot curb, lines, and other cars. I took the picture at the EZ Pass Store parking lot on my way to work. I will need to find a better location for new pictures.

Send me a set (make sure to install the tires on before you ship) and include a few extra dollars for the guy installing them. I will take some pictures and folks will be able to see how great those wheels look on my car. I will be happy to be your wheel "model".

let me know if you need the shipping address and my name for the check...

btw, those are great looking wheels.

Did the dealership put that pinstriping on your car? That's the 1st 07+ G35 I've seen with pinstriping, it's not a good look. Congrats on the purchase...

Yup, they did the pinstriping. All the 08's i saw go out of their dealership are pinstriped. I reckon you could specify no striping. I happen to like it (especially the small Infiniti logo), but perhaps the fact that all my bikes have been pinstriped factors into that.

That colour combination is awesome. I wish I had gone for that combo in addition to wishing I got an S (and not an X).

Congrats.
