Hi Everyone,

I have been looking at this site and a host of others like the my350z site. First off I am amazed by the amount of knowledge you can get from these sites. Second I am so happy to have got the G. Some details now, its a 2004 G35 coupe with all the upgrades except the navi. WOW what an amazing car , I owned a 98 Honda prelude and thought the Vtech was nice but dam, what a change! Any ways just wanted to say hi and introduce my self on this fine forum you guys have going here.

Regards,
Prabu

My First Day with the "G"

Okay so as I posted before I finally got my G35 coupe today. Boy what a day!!! So let me tell you the story of how my day was with my new ride. I picked up the car around 11:00 am from the dealer after he inspected my brakes as they were making noise when i drove it... not a big deal it was all fixed up and done. So I decided to take it to my gym and park it there instead of taking it all the way to work as there was quite a bit of snow on the roads from the snow storm we had the day before. Nothing special here, so I am at work now and all I can think about is going home and driving my new car home and just enjoying it, as I barley even spent an hour with her. So work finally finishes at 11 pm and I make my way to the gym with my friend were i parked my car. I finally get there get in and decide to open the windows and the sun roof... just checking stuff out and messed around with the mirrors as I had no idea how to use any of the functions. I finally figure out how to set the mirrors and everything and decided to go home. Now I try to close the windows and sunroof and every things seems to be fine so far until I wanted to close the passenger side window!!! Stuck... at this point I figured I must have pushed some button, so here we are pushing all the buttons to make the window go up... No Luck, I mean there are only 4 possible buttons on the driver side door that can be for the windows and the locks... after trying for about 15 mins me and my friend give up and I decide to drive my car with the passenger window open. Mind you its probably -4 outside, so I decide to put on my coat and turn the heat up when I leave. So now as I am driving home I notice my gas light come on as the stupid dealer only gave me the car with a little bit of gas, so I decide I should stop and fill up. Its 12:45 am now and me and my friend pull into the gas station and I get out and I start to look for a button or something to release the gas tank. This being my first day with the car, I had no idea where the button was, I spend about 5 mins looking every where for a button that will open the gas tank with now luck, now my friend gets involved trying to look for it and after searching for about 10 mins we both give up and pull the car over to the side. At this point I was really frustrated, cold, and started to think I might have got a lemon as the stupid window still didn't want to go up. I could hear the little click when I push the button but nothing was happening. At this point I just wanted to fill the car up with gas and get the car home. The window could always be fixed the next day by the dealer so my friend calls his brother and asks him to look on the internet and figure out how to open the gas tank. After about 10 mins we finally get an answer!!! Boy was I glad. Okay so now I fill the car up and decide to go home, I start her up after filling the tank and decide, lets try to close the window just for the heck of it... and what do you know, it goes up!!! YAY!!! Finally I can drive and enjoy my car... on the highway it felt sublime with the power kicking in, even on 6th I punch the loud peddle and the car was just flying... Don't worry I wasn't speeding... Much! any ways on the way home my friend calls me and said lets go for a ride, seeing the highways were clean, so I decide why not and make my way to his place. Every thing good so far until we got off the highway and into his neighborhood, what a mess!!! my car starts sliding all over, the VDC going mad, the "SLIP" light going crazy. It was messed up. But I managed to get into the street that he lives on and just before his house, maybe about 6 houses down my car gets stuck. Well to make a long story short it took me and my friend about 2 hours in the freezing cold and snow, a **** load of salt and sand to get the car out of the snow and back on drivable street. That day I got home around 3 am to find out my grand father passed away. What a day, I guess I should have never taken the chance with the tires I had. All in all a lesson learned well, and a tragic end to a crazy day. What a roller coster day it was!

Prabu,

I am sorry to read about your grandfather. My condolences to you and your family . . . Everything else is a lesson learned.

Thank you,

I still haven't driven my G after that crazy night. I am just waiting for the snow to clear so I can take her out.
