Returned to a G35!

Hi gang..

I had a 2003.5 G35 sedan that a got rid of as it was a real rattle-trap. Went to an Acura.

Had an occasion to drive a friends 2008 Sedan. What a difference! Traded the Acura in on a 2008 Sedan w/premium, navigation & sport wheel & tire pkg.

One question however: is it possible to change out the XM to Sirius? I have been a Sirius subscriber for over 3 years and have several receivers. I know I can just hook up a portable tuner but I want to keep all the functions of the factory system.

Thanks

Welcome back!

As for Sirius, I don't think you're alone in wanting it, but I don't think there is any options to stay factory as of yet. There are a few threads around about it, but I think everybody is still in the dark on how to make it happen.

I bought my G35 Sport last May. Before that I had purchased the previous November, a 2007 GT500 Mustang. I was one of the lucky ones to get a good deal on one. I thought I could relive my youth since I couldn't afford one when I was 18-20. Unfortunately my age and injury kept me from really enjoying it. It was a hell of a car putting out over 525 HP after I had it tuned. I sold it and bought my G35 Sport because my daughter had one and I really liked it. Surprisingly, the acceleration of the G35 is almost as fast as the Gt500 from 0-60, and it is much more comfortable and easy to drive.

I found the Sirius satellite option here:

for either Sirius or XM. Seems as though you can buy the components, just a matter of removing the XM receiver and having the Sirius receiver installed (I would think).

Immortal, thanks for the link. I called them and while it will work with a 2007, it won't in the 2008 with navigation. Apparantly, Nissan did a real good job of integrating everything together this time!

Hopefully, the merger will take place soon; I don't want to have to install a portable unit and lose the integration functions.

There must be a way around it; check with the dealer you bought the car from to see if they'll give you more info. Also there's someone on the board (Jason@Riverside) that should be able to help.

Here's one thread with a post by him:

Good luck getting Sirius!!
