Smile Sleek New G !

Picked up my new G yesterday. As you all know the car is unbelievable.

Strange, but the dealer claimed there was no break-in period for the engine. Of course, the manual indicates otherwise. Why would they do this?

Would also like to thank everyone for all the great information I've obtained from this forum over the last few months leading up to my purchase. It was a great help.

Congrats!!!

As far as the break in period goes, I would keep it under 4000 RPM for the first 1000 miles. But believe me it's not always easy to do.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum.

As to break-in it is also for all the mechanical components of the car such as brakes, clutch etc. So no quick starts or stops during the recommended break-in time as mentioned in the manual. I think it is important to vary your rpms while breaking it in, don't run at the same rpm for extended periods of time. After saying all of this it does not hurt to take the rpms above 4000 during break-in a few times. How can you avoid it, you want to feel the rush
