1. Well of course I have a pretty good attitude about this. I'm not going to be mad at the cops and talk **** on them because I was breaking the law and they were just doing their job.
"You know you're an idiot and are admitting that as well as admitting there was no excuse for it. I commend you for that at least." -- Thanks! I'm pretty mature for my age, but I still have a-ways to go, obviously.

2. I know that there's a ton of things that could've went wrong and I could've died, killed someone else, or badly injured myself and/or someone else. I may only be 19 but I don't think I'm invincible. All it takes is a split second, a small mistake and it's all over. Also, I wasn't weaving in and out of traffic, changing lanes, or even around other cars. I just saw an open straight-a-way and much like any of you, I took advantage of the straight-a-way and opened it up. You may not have went as fast or maybe went even faster. I looooove the rush of speeding, any speed over 90mph excites me to no end. It gives me those "I'm in love" butterflies LOL. I'm sure that more than half of the people on this site feel the same way. I just need to take my love for the rush over to a closed track that's set up for speeds unsafe for the freeway.

3. Yes, NorCal sucks. I don't know if you'd consider it NorCal but it was in Tulare County, close to Fresno. I think it was on the 98? I don't remember. I live close to L.A. so any thing past Bake-o is NorCal for me. LOL.

4. I've heard that a lot "I don't think any 18-19yr old needs to be driving a G37S." Have you ever heard of "It's not the years, it's the miles." ? Once again, I may only be 19 but I have been through more in my life than most 40+ year-olds. I was forced to grow up quickly. I've worked hard and non-stop since I was about 14. I'm always giving my time and money to other people, helping others before myself. Other than the iPhone (I'm a nerd so I couldn't help it) I've never spent more than $100 on myself for something I wanted, not needed. I've found over the years that there's a big difference between wants and needs. Any way, so when the 37's came out and I was drooling over the ads, my wife had to talk me into buying it for myself. And I'm not like that because of a lack of money.

Sorry for the novel! LOL. I swear my posts are never this long.

Thanks for the input guys! Be safe and watch out for those over-passes.

LOL! I knoooow! For the past year I've been seriously thinking of becoming a cop. Tech to cop. What a job change. LOL.

Cop -- carry a gun, shoot it. chase down douche bags and arrest them. drive as fast as you want when on a call. get to handcuff douche bags.

tech -- know a lot about things that most people don't. hang out with nerds. get paid a lot.

Hmmm....

1. Crappy radar that I was using while waiting for my V1

2. The cop was on an over pass. Can radar's pick up sigs. that come through your roof? When I got pulled over this BMW 5X pulled over also, I guess he thought that he was the one getting pulled over. When I went to court for it I could've used that as a defense. Actually, I looked into and I could've gotten out of if it if I went about it the right way but I'd rather face the music and deal with it.

The cop asked you how fast you were going and you fessed up didn't you? Second stupid move right there. The first being that you were speeding in the first place. I like how eeeeevvvvverybody laughs at criminals on TV, yet when people themselves are face to face with an officer, they panic and forget that they have the right to shut the f**k up. If they ask YOU questions about something YOU did, sometimes it's because they have no or little evidence against you. Because of that, you always want to play dumb and say "you don't know." Not in a sarcastic manner of course, but in a polite naive manner.

When a cop pulls you over, you have two options. Option A is to behave and act accordingly. Shut off your music, put and KEEP both hands on the steering wheel unless he tells you to do otherwise but for the love of God play it cool. Answer with yes or no responses ending everything with "officer" but FFS don't tell him how fast you "think" you were going. Just say you don't know.

As soon as he told you that it was another officer who clocked you speeding, you should have immediately gone with Option B. If being cordial doesn't get you out of a ticket - and believe me when I say that it works more often than you'd think as Cops often pull people over who are complete douches. So often sometimes that when they come across someone who is genuine, they oftentimes feel remorse and let you off the hook. - then your only other choice to try to get out of said ticket is to play it smart. Try to be as polite as possible as you may come across as a bit of a wise *** by asking so many questions. But the way I see it, if they're going to ticket you and you don't want to pay it, you might as well exercise your rights to ask as many questions as you can. Ask him when the gun was calibrated. If he was shooting radar or laser. If he's qualified to operate the gun. Ask him what angle he was holding the gun at.

Check out http://www.wikihow.com/Fight-a-Traffic-Ticket for some good know how and how to fight tickets. Some stuff works, some stuff doesn't, but the more info you get, the better.

True if you know you were speeding the "proper" thing to do is fess up. There is no excuse for breaking the law. I will say however that sometimes the law and I disagree in what should and shouldn't be allowed. So much so that I consider doing whatever I can to bend it a bit. Speeding according to the law is always illegal. But if I'm on a deserted twisty backroad or it's early in the morning and the roads are empty, I'm going to enjoy all 306hp at 6800 rpm baby.

^^^ Thanks. I am being raped though, not in the @$s but in the bank. My ticket, all together, is about $857. I have no idea how much my car insurance is going to be. Not to mention that I've had tickets before. If my driving record was clean I would've tried to get out of the ticket.

To bruddahmanmatt: I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that post novels. Anyone with a brain would know that when you get pulled over you don't speak unless you're spoken to. I grew up under the rule "kids are to be seen, not heard" so I'm well mannered when it comes to speaking to someone, especially if I don't know them or if they are a type of authority. Those were good pointers on how to fight a ticket. I would've done so but I knew I was wrong.
Word to the 306hp at 6800 rpm I love asking people (other than my mom, she has a Corvette) how many horses they have because most of the time, I have more These cars are so sick. When I bought it I got into a 35 first and I was going to buy it then but the dealer took me over to the 37 and I got in and asked him where do I sign. LOL, I took a test drive first and I couldn't wait to get back to dealer and hang out for 5 hours doing paper work and such.

This ticket assassin stuff is OK, but as one who used to do the job I can say most of the asking stuff about calibration and certified speedometers is best saved for court. Also you can assume that if you got stopped you probably were the one the officer was looking for, not the other car. I know very few police that waste their time stopping cars they are not sure are in violation. There are too many violators out there to bother. If you plan to fight the ticket I wouldn't alert the officer to the fact by mentioning the radar calibration and stuff. Half of the stops he makes he will forget, an example of this is what did you have for lunch three weeks ago Tuesday? Its the same for the officer, he likely won't remember unless you do something extraordinary. Tickets are numbers to him, and most officers write more than 100 per month, traffic guys do even more. So if you hit him in court about the radar calibration and he doesn't have a currant one to show the judge, there goes your ticket, mention it on the side of the road and he'll be ready in court. Another thing to remember is that the police, under that uniform are humans too. If you treat him well, with respect, don't kiss his @$$, he won't like that, he will mostly likely treat you the same, and warnings are never given to a roadside arguer. Sorry for the novel.

At least you weren't caught driving that speed in Ontario, Canada. They have a new law that slaps offenders with an automatic $10,000 fine for driving more than 31mph over the posted limit. On top of the fine you'd also have to pay for towing and storage of your car while it's impounded and possibly face up to 6 months in jail.

Yep, I live in Ontario and that new law definitely makes me think before I open up the G for a quick burst up a road. I personally think its ridiculous.

No way, that's insane. Up there they must be having a hard time keeping people from speeding. Man, I can't get over that. If I lived there I'd be sitting in jail and in in debt. That makes me sick to my stomach thinking about it. It sucks that I have to learn things the hard way but it's better to learn from them now than to never learn from them at all. I'm so freakin lucky.
